We thought for a while on different ways to have more of our theme shine through. For a while I had thought we could use little knight figurines to put with the name cards but then my FI had the brilliant idea to find cute little lego figurines and put them on the table with the centerpiece (still figuring out those). They are small so they won’t be too obnoxious and it’ll be cute. We have little knights, dragons, a witch, etc. I think we are also considering buying the Lego castle and building it to set up on one of the cake tables or gift tables…something!!
Do you think this is a really cute idea or are you completely turned off by the thought of little plastic toys being put on the table? (He’s pretty nerdish so I thought we could get away with it)
ETA: our theme is medieval aspects with the legos only being in the centerpieces and other tables. Our colors are navy and silver and yellow.

I love it!
If anyone tells you legos are only for kids, just tell them about the lego exhibit at the National Building Museum here in DC – http://magazine.istopover.com/2010/08/02/lego-stars-at-the-national-building-museum/ It’s amazing the things you can build with them!

I vote yes b/c I love legos, ever since being reintroduced to them by my 5 year old. I think it’s cute and if you and fi like it, that’s all that matters! 🙂

I didn’t even know they had this and I’m right outside of DC!

What I could see is a lego cake topper. Like maybe a teeny lego castle or a lego bride and groom.
Or maybe the lego-ey stuff on the cake table there, and there only.
Maybe have the color scheme based on the colors of legos? but not take the whole lego things throughout the entire wedding. Or maybe just some lego-inspired lettering on table numbers or invites. I would have fun w/it, but not go too far.

@pinkstardustdesigns: It’s really neat! You have to reserve tickets ahead of time though (we didn’t know that, so we got there just after 1 and the next time slot with available tickets was 3pm, so we had to kill two hours – not the end of the world, but the rest of that museum definitely doesn’t take that long to see, haha.

@bellenga: We aren’t having the whole theme be Legos, sorry about the confusion. It’s a medieval theme and there will only be legos on the tables.

What about Lego cufflinks? We are thinking about getting this pair for my son.
However, etsy has lots of other options.

I found a few cute centerpiece or cake table ideas:
(this was actually posted by someone else here on WB: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/unique-centerpiece-idea-help )
Another centerpiece idea:
found here: http://clockworkweddings.com/blog/2010/08/27/stephanie-torsten-building-a-new-life-together-one-block-at-a-time/
Also from that website, this could be a great idea for a cake table sign/saying:
And last but not least, this website is kinda cool for a topper/rings:
I’d have fun with it! I love legos and would think it was a neat idea if I saw it! 🙂

I’ve heard if you contact the Lego company, they will either sell/give you a cake topper.

It takes a lot of time and effort for lego to look classy.. the lego exhibit was done in metallic-looking colors and thats nice, but if its regular multi-colored lego then I would not like that

Such a cute idea! I love it! I wonder if you could have Lego candy pieces on the cake?

I actually really like the bowl of legos and candle that dodgercpkl posted.

soooooooo cute! I’m looking for specific cuff links for my dad & bro and I actually saw ones made from a single square lego! You could do cupcakes with legos on top of each one. Lego centerpieces, wowwww – you could def go nuts w/this one. Good luck & have fun!!!!!!
