Ohhavok:  My husband and I are TTC now! We aren’t temping or charting or anything. We are just kind of not preventing for a while and then in about a year if nothing has changed we will start actively trying. We are just enjoying the process now πŸ™‚

Congrats! It’s an exciting time. I just got my squinter of a positive! πŸ™‚ This was our first month really trying. I’ve been reading a lot about things. My cycle is around 30 days. I started using OPKs and charting this month. I am SO glad that I did because apparently I ovulate later than normal (CD19 versus CD14 which is average), so the past months we missed our chance. I was also confused because I would get EWCM for sometimes up to 6 days before I ovulated, but it would be spotty (some days I got it and some days I didn’t.). This month I didn’t get any EWCM on the day that I ovulated but the day before. It is best to BD (baby dance aka have sex!) 3 days before you are ovulate. This month we actually BD 7 days straight before I ovulated (crazy but part of that is that I didn’t know when I was ovulating lol).

And yes – CD is calendar day. CD1 is the first day of your period. DPO is days post ovulation. I started testing 7dpo, but I didn’t get my first squinter/hardly there line until 10dpo which is apparently very early, but I think that I implanted early. I bought cheap strip tests off from Amazon (I got 25 strip tests for $10!).

Another thing that I learned is that most lubes kill sperm…the only ones that are good for the spermies are Pre-Seed and Conceive Plus (there might be a couple more out there…not sure). I used Pre-Seed this cycle. Many people get prego the first cycle that they use it. You’re supposed to insert it internally (like a tampon) before you BD, but we just used it externally like a lube.

Good luck!! πŸ™‚

Ohhavok:  You should definitely get an ovulation predictor kit.  A 2 month+ supply is on amazon for $20, and they come with pregnancy tests.  Don’t forget the little cups for peeing in πŸ™‚  Forget the temping.  It’s too much stress and this early on it is unnecesary.  I also had the problems with the apps – them telling me different dates.  I started using the OPK and it told me I ovulate earlier in my cycle so the apps were useless.  BD = baby dance, aka sex.  CD – cycle day, meaning how many days after your last period started.  And DPO is days post ovulation.  If you have the cheapie Wondfo pregnancy tests or the ones that came with your OPK, you can start testing at 8dpo, but some women won’t have a positive until their period starts, or after it!

Best of luck to you bee!  I am in my third cycle of trying.  There are no stupid questions!  You can always PM me if you don’t want to ask the forum and I’ll try my best πŸ™‚

Good luck! We’ve been TTC since September – but had bad timing September and October, so really started in November once I figured some stuff out after I went off BC in September.

I invested in buying OPKs and have felt that has worked great to know when I’ve O’d. As other PP have said, you can get some from Amazon for cheap (Wondfo). I bought a combo pack of OPK and prego tests to stock up!

I may get some preseed this time and see if that helps, as we had awesome timing last month and got AF over the weekend. I’ve been using Period Tracker to track for years, and then started FF and Glow since TTC began.

Congrats! That’s so exciting! Hopefully it all happens quickly for you. My Fiance and I will be starting to TTC in 3 months. It seems so close, but so far away at the same time lol I can’t wait! We are using that time to do whatever preparing we need to do beforehand though. So between preparing for TTC and continuing to plan our wedding in 5 months, the time should go by fast πŸ™‚

i just want to say good luck to you and all the other ladies ttcing! i was just in your shoes a month ago and now im 6 weeks along after one ttc cycle. Hoping for a healthy 8 months! Just to give you some advise about temping as it worked amazingly for me and i plan on using it again when necessary. Temping is not useless (as previously stated by someone and it is not stressful with the right app) i would do it to be in sync with my body, also the good thing about temping is you know exactly when you ovulate and you can detect luteal phase problems unlike with opks, pks just tell you when you are fertile but you need to know more. Go get your self a basal body thermometer and temp every morning before getting out of bed (vaginally or orally) Input it into fertility friend (app) and you will have all your info. If you ovulate late and have a short luteal phase that can be a cause of miscarriage early on so if you detect that your luteal phase is short you need to have your doctors help, even if you chart for a month or two you will have a good idea on how your cycle works. You can use opks also but bbt temping is far more useful Because of the information you gather. take everyones advice with a grain of salt but opks alone may not work. there is nothing stressful about temping its very straight forward and s lot cheaper than buying opks every other month! I also wouldnt confuse myself with multiple apps i tried a few and found that fertility friend was the easiest to use.

Also ovulation can only be detected accuretly by a rise in temp for three consecutive days opks dont confirm ovulation.

Ohhavok:  Yes, Wondfo is the most popular brand for cheap pregnancy test and are the skinny ones.  You dip them in a cup of pee which I guess is how they are so cheap because there is no plastic applicator you pee on.  I have Clinical Guard as well, but my OPK kit came with 20 PG tests and 50 OPs.  Try not to obsess about it too much, your time will come!
