Hello lovely bees,
I am just too excited I had to share, we just booked our honeymoon!!! My Fiance and I will be going on a 12 day European/Meditteranean cruise! I am so completely excited about this. We are also going to be going to Ireland for a few days so that my Fiance (which will be my husband then!) can meet my extended family who can’t come to the wedding. Here is our itinerary, if anyone has tips on what to see and do at each port that would be amazing, we may also stay a couple days in Barcelona before the cruise leaves off. Here is our itinerary for those interested!

How fun! My Fiance and I went on a 12 day Mediterranean cruise in August (Royal Caribbean’s Serenade of the Seas) and we LOVED it. We had an awesome corner aft balcony. If you haven’t already, go join Cruise Critic. So much helpful information for the planning stages! You may even find a “roll call” for other people taking the same cruise. We used this website to organize private tours with other cruisers.
I’d recommend private tours over the tours offered by the cruise line. We had smaller tour groups of 6-8 people and it was so much easier to get around and hear the tour guides. The tours offered by the cruise line will often be in groups of 30+ people for the same price. We were able to beat all of the larger tour groups to the major sites.
We stayed in Barcelona before the cruise. I’d highly recommend the Hotel Jazz for lodging and Ciudad Condal for a restaurant! Hotel Jazz was very modern, had a spacious room and bathroom, and was close to public transit and Las Ramblas.
I can’t recommend Rome in Limo enough for your Italian ports. They offer private tours and we used them for Rome, the Amalfi Coast/Pompeii, and Florence/Pisa. They were awesome and a great value compared to the tours offered by the ship. They use air-conditioned Mercedes and offer free wi-fi and bottled water in the vehicles. They’ll even give you a discount for booking more than one tour during your trip.
We used Ephesus Shuttle for Kusadasi. Great private tour, but they will try to get you to go to a rug or leather factory. Make sure you try apple tea while in Turkey!
Feel free to PM me if you have any questions!

spiffanee: We booked with Norwegian Cruise line, we’ve done 2 cruises with them before and really enjoyed them, it’s a bit of a younger crowd, and they had dates and prices that worked well for us 🙂
