- Wedding: August 2013
Well after over 2 years of being engaged, we finally got married on 9th August at 12PM, and it was WONDERFUL. It was honestly everything I’d ever dreamed of. We don’t have our pro photos yet – these are just from friends and family.
The day started at the hotel where we would be having our reception. Myself, my mum and my bridesmaids had all stayed the night before and this would also be where we got ready. We shared two rooms and had the most fun I’ve ever had. Our first big task was steaming the veil – this took almost an hour alone! We also steamed the top layers of my dress, and the bridesmaid’s dresses.
My usual hairdresser booked the day off to come and do our hair. He was later a guest at the wedding. He arrived around 7AM and worked flat out till about 11.30AM.
Our makeup was done by a freelance makeup artist who also works for MAC. She was brilliant!
My ‘Mrs’ robe – a gift from the groom 🙂
My shoes – Jimmy Choo Crowns in Navy Blue!
We started getting ready at 6.30AM (for a 12PM wedding). The morning went so fast and my mum and bridesmaids were all ready for about 11AM but I somehow didn’t end up getting dressed until ten minutes before the ceremony was due to start!
My bridesmaids (Becca, Maid/Matron of Honor, Hayley, groom’s cousin and my close friend Louise) – they wore floorlength navy chiffon dresses and had gypsophila bouquets.
Some ‘getting dressed’ pics:
Then we went to the church! The choir and priest walked down the aisle followed by me and my mum, who gave me away and my bridesmaids. The steps were treacherous and I’m so glad I didn’t fall!!
THEN, finally, we said our vows! This was my favourite part of the whole day but I was sooo nervous!
The next few photos were taken by friends and family at the same time as our pro photographer 🙂
And some funny ones!
I think my friend had just found out she’d guessed the designer correctly..or else she was just really excited!
I think the wind just blew the photographer’s hair and my friend snapped at that moment – but I love how he looks so stressed and I am wearing my biggest evil grin. Bridezilla alert!
Back at our reception venue I went with my photographer, groom, Maid/Matron of Honor and her boyfriend (Craig’s usher) who took some photos along with my photographer. Here they are:
My mum, who did the best speech in the WORLD 🙂
Behind us you can see our wishing well, guest book, gypsophila display and a pair of Cinderella shoes from Harrods!
Our table plan. Our tables were named after Disney princesses.
Our cake! The topper was customised so that the bride’s shoes were navy 😉
Sweetie cart! Lit up with lights and we had navy blue ‘help yourself’ bags. It was a massive hit..I just wish I’d had time to try the sweets myself!
Our first dance was to Jon McLaughlin’s ‘So Close’ (from Disney’s Enchanted..anyone noticing a theme here?!)
One last photo before I stop. It was the best day ever and I can’t wait to get my pro pics..I hope you all enjoyed looking at these 🙂
