- Wedding: June 2013
So we finally made it to the best day of our lives and I married the man of my dreams. The day was perfect and couldn’t be more special and amazing! (Even with the 45 minutes of rain). After a serious drama with my dress 5 days before the wedding EVERY single element of the day went exactly as we planned! I would not have changed a thing…..
So the dress…. you may remember my other posts of slight dress regret, then the first fitting, then falling in love with my dress all over again, and for some bizarre reason thinking I wanted a tiara! (So glad I did not go with that whim btw)… well 5 days before the big day I went with my bridesmaid to her seamstress so that she could be shown how to lace me into the corset. I had my dress altered in the town that I live and my husband collected it for me after the last fitting as I had to work so I did not see the dress and did not think to check it (silly me!). Well we took it out of the bag and it was unfinished!!!!! Un steamed!!!!!! and still too big!!!!!! The entire outside layer of lace (most important layer) had not been altered at all to fit me so was four sizes too big!, the bust still curved outwards as she had not stitched it down, the bum/hip area was all bumpy and scrumpled into a weird shape as there was WAY too much material left, a hole where the corset finished that you could clearly see the underskirt through and the corset ties were about three times the length I was! I was hysterical. But the new seamstress really pulled through for me and worked her magic and my dress was beautiful!… anhoo sorry for the lengthy description but PLEASE PLEASE check your dress is perfect before leaving the shop! I spent an extra £100 to get mine fixed on top of what I already spent…….
Without further adoo…. our day (and my dress!!!! :-D)
