We bought a brand spankers new caravan today ready for our trip to the tropical top end of Oz. Several times the sales people assumed we were married and said your wife/husband etc.
We ignored it as we usually do (I still get a little thrill though and think he does too).
Anyway, they took a photo of us for their facebook page and when I looked at it, they refered to us as Mr and Mrs ‘Smith’ ..
the COMMENTS Ive gotten this arvo about it! I havent told him yet, he isnt into fb at all but loves to look through mine.
Ill show him tomorrow night after work (he’s gone to bed). Im excited about his reaction!
Anyone else had an assumption go viral?

@undercoverjoan: Ha ha that’s brilliant. Congrats on your new caravan and good luck with your trip. Let us know what his reaction is!!! 🙂

@MsBeer: I certainly will, should probably start a blog as this will test us – living in a caravan in a wet tropical climate and not killing each other, all the while with me hanging around impatiently waiting on a proposal!
I have a fair idea of his reaction, although I could be a bit optimistic it has just seemed like he keeps trying to check out my thoughts on us tying the knot.
I really think that when he sees it he’ll immediatly use the ‘family and friends assumption’ and casually try to talk about getting married.
And thus avoid a romantic proposal period!
If he does, I need to pre think something in response ( my witty comebacks usually come to me a good 45 mins later or when im in bed, seething and trying to go to sleep..)

@undercoverjoan: Ha ha witty response delay. I too suffer from this! I hope he doesn’t try to dodge his way around an actually proposal, but hey, if he is eager, that’s all good I suppose! Your trips sounds amazing, but yes, a big test! How long you going for? My friends did something simular and loved it and survived! 🙂

@MsBeer: We’re headed for Darwin for at least a year then we’ll evaluate our situation and who knows where from there! The major decider will be my daughter (11 and in grade 5). At the moment she’s beyond excited but we both have older daughters (both are 19) s we know what we’re in for!!!
Her education and stability is paramount. perversley this is why we are doing this now. last chance so to speak. If it doesnt work then we come home. If it does then whoo HOOOO!
Cant wait though, its bloody FREEZING here by the beach right now in southern vic. beautiful in the warmer months but so so ecomomically cruel for a lot of peeps in the colder months. 🙁
