VERY new to the TTC boards. My husband and I just married in May and we have both decided that we are ready. However; I have a lung disease called cystic fibrosis and am going to the doctor in a few hours to see if I am healthy enough to conceive and carry a child. I am so nervous about this appointment. Hubby and I are both 24 but we figured why wait when a couple years from now my health may decline and I wontbe able to carry a child. Very anxious to see what happens. Wish us luck.

Sending happy thoughts to you! I had a really super close friend that had CF, unfortunately she passed when we were 19 🙁 She had a really sucessful double lung transplant a few years prior (her death was due to lymphoma and that super contagious infection I can’t seem to remember the name to). I can’t believe how far medicine has come and that you will hopefully be able to have children! Good luck!

Cystic Fibrosis is a big deal 🙁 Very sad that you have to live with that. Good luck to you!

Fingers crossed! Did you do genetic testing to see if your SO is a carrier? I’m of scandanavian descent and my Darling Husband is ashkenazi jewish, so we have a high liklihood of both being carriers. We’re kind of nervous about it!
