- Wedding: July 2011
I cannot express enough how deeply grateful I am right now……I was out with one of my good girlfriends at a bar and we were a bit tipsy and talking wedding talk….I was venting at how I was having such a hard time finding the perfect location….then I jokingly said “would you let us have it at your house?” and my girlfriend said, you want to? and i said, i was only joking, its ok….she said, why not though? i’ll ask my dad….. i was so baffled…i mean, sure i was trying to find a location but i never even thought of seriously asking my own friends to use their places….
that was thursday night and i honestly didn’t think much of it all weekend cuz well, we were tipsy….well, she tells me this morning that her dad said yes, and was actually excited about it! Girls, this house is drop. dead. gorgeous!!!! There’s a long tree-lined driveway with old fashioned lamp posts and then it leads to a circular drive around a fountain, a beautifully manicured front lawn and a gorgeous weeping willow flanked on one side of the front of the house, the drive continues to a parking area on the other side…..my girlfriend’s excited and is telling me we could use the driveway area for the reception, that her dad said the tables could be placed between the trees along it, and there’s electricity along the driveway so they’ll put white christmas lights on the trees and possibly up above hanging between them across the driveway to form a lit canopy….which is what i had envisioned for our wedding….and the weeping willow could be where we have the ceremony, with the house as a backdrop…..and she said they have a golf cart for any elderly who can’t walk far distances…..and she said the sunset at her house is to die for……i’m just so overwhelmed with joy and gratitude right now!!! i offered to pay them and they won’t hear it…..this is their gift to us…. :’-)
i want to honor them somehow at the wedding or with a gift of some sort or something….any ideas??
