I posted a few weeks ago that I was trying to love a venue that had a lot of things going for it (price, location, etc), but the more I tried to love it the more I absolutely hated it to the point that I’d end up crying a couple times. My disdain for how “effing precious” the venue and village it was located it in has become a running joke between my fiance and some friends (and me) since then.
Anyway, we went to to see a whole bunch more since then and they just weren’t right or were perfect but too expensive and then this past Sunday we finally found it! It’s a new venue so we were able to take advantage of some promotional discounts which put it right into our price range. And the owners are the catering company that we were hoping to use at a few other venues so… OM NOM NOM! Oh, and we can bring our own alcohol which we are so excited about for so many reasons!
I’m so excited. It’s the absolute opposite feeling as the other venue. The more I think about it, the more I love it! Admittedly, I’m a touch worried about the newness of the venue but every venue was new at some point and only the venue is new – not the people running it. And I’m so excited to finally have an OFFICIAL date and be able to move forward with actually planning. We even ended up buying a few things for decor yesterday!
Here’s a couple pictures – the white and chrome furniture is an option, but it’s probably not what we’ll be using. It just happens to be in the pics that show the room the best:
(It looks like it’s right on the street but it’s actually pretty set back, and they’re going to be putting in a private patio on one side. PLUS, it’s not a very high traffic area specifically for foot traffic. It’s mainly home renovation stores and factories in the area so it’s pretty deserted after business hours. Actually, the downstairs of the venue is a furniture store which you can see in the first pic… I think it gives it a really cool look! The lights will be off, though so it won’t be as harsh)
Here’s the furniture we’ll probably use (minus the weird sticks lol):
