The Puppy Diaries:
Camo the pup had lots of energy last night and thought he could work it out like he did with his previous foster brother: play fighting. Yardley, my father’s dog, was seemingly not such a big fan of the young whippersnapper.
We took several trips outside for Camo to get his “zoomies” out over an argument (with me) over the acceptability of eating pine cones. I won. Sort of. When I desired to go in, Camo did not (naughty boy) so Yardley and I went in. She seemed to be moving very slowly, so I worried she was injured and carried her to her favorite spot on the sofa. The second I turned around, she was off the sofa, trotting behind me to the porch door where Camo was whining to come in. Apparently, she didn’t want to come in without the whippersnapper. I guess she likes him at least a little.
DH and I are alternating sleeping downstairs until Camo is more comfortable… and doesn’t need to go outside in the middle of the night. We’re working on crate training but we’re introducing the crate slowly because we wasn’t crated at his foster home. He slept at my feet on the sofa last night. Anyway… he woke up at 3:30 and threw up some pinecone. Lovely. Then he woke up at 4:30 and threw up some more pinecone. Lovely again.
At 5:30 Mr. Camo decided it was time to get up and let me know by snuggling very very close and then removing himself. Dawwwww…
I’ve been peed on, puked on, drooled on, and woken multiple times during the night. Hmm… do I have a puppy or a baby?
