So excited …
We started up our registry before Christmas, and when FH’s parents asked what we wanted for Christmas we directed them to our registry (they also passed the info to Future Sister-In-Law and FBIL) … so we got some of our first items:
The 6-slice wafflemaker: http://www.cuisinart.com/products/waffle_makers/waf-6.html
The immersion blender: http://www.cuisinart.com/products/hand_blenders/csb-77.html
And from our wish-list of henkels cuisine kitchen gagets items: the pizza cutter and cheese grater
I am pumped to get using it all!

We also got a bunch of kitchen stuff off of our registry for Christmas. Between both sets of parents we got: stainless steel mixing bowls; storage containers; non stick baking sheet set; pyrex baking set; a bright yellow stainless steel colander; and an electric griddle!

@ms mini–plus it’s kinda exciting because since it’s not technically a wedding gift you can use it before the wedding. Whereas shower and wedding gifts (if I’m not mistaken) you are supposed to wait to use until after the wedding.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have a registry for the rest of your life, like for Christmas and birthdays etc. Then people would always know what to get you!

@mandalynn17 – you are right, etiquette wise you are supposed to wait to use shower/wedding gifts until after the wedding, so it is exciting to get to use them right away (we are making waffles with whipped cream and strawberries tomorrow) … we just got home from our Christmas trip to our hometown so we ust get to enjoy our Christmas gifts now!!

@ Charm bracelet – I was thinking the same thing, and probably for 2010 we will be directing people to our registry for birthdays and stuff as well – it makes it easy for everyone!

We also got our first off-the-registry gift for Christmas – one of my bridesmaids got us the silverware we wanted, so i can finally give away the set I’ve been using for the past 13 years. It’s really ridiculously exciting when the first gifts start rolling in 🙂
