- Wedding: August 2018 - Melbourne, Australia
I am SO excited we have our photos back! So happy with them 🙂 Desperate to share them, but not sharing on our social media until we’ve shown our families when we get together next weekend.. but I feel like I just HAVE to share them somewhere haha!!
We got married on Saturday 18th August 2018 here in Melbourne, Australia. The weather was INSANE all day… changing constantly (typical Melbourne lol) and we had super strong wind, rain, sunshine, clouds, hail etc. We were hoping to get married out on the deck overlooking the lake, but had to change at the last minute because the wind was so strong it was blowing the chairs in to the lake LOL! I was a little bit bummed, but also grateful we chose a venue where we could move inside easily. As soon as I walked in and saw my husband, it didn’t matter – I was just so happy to be there and to be marrying him.
The rain was pretty torrential during our ceremony, but it stopped afterwards for long enough that we were able to go outside for some photos. There ended up being a beautiful rainbow, and ‘golden hour’ was so beautiful, as was the sunset. So that made up for the earlier bad weather. Though the extreme wind messed up my hair BAD haha.
By the way, the reason we got married in Melbourne’s winter (renowned to be cold and rainy) is because my husband said, “If you want me to wear a suit, we have to get married in winter.” because he feels the heat easily.
Our whole day was awesome. It was a fairly small wedding with 50 something guests, and we didn’t have a bridal party. I could have quite happily eloped, to be honest, but I am glad we had a wedding now 🙂 It was so much fun!
Sorry if the photos come out massive, I’m still a bit of a newbie to this website.
I love that my husband’s beard is in this haha.. it’s one of my favourite things about him physically.
I’m not someone who wears heels, so when I saw a picture of these sparkly Keds x Kate Spade sneakers online I HAD to have them as my wedding shoes!
Showing my Dad how great my dress twirled 🙂 One of my closest friends is a dressmaker, and her gift to me was making my wedding dress. We designed it together. It was exactly what I wanted! None of the store dresses felt “me”.
Pretty windy out there haha… it was blowing his suit to the back of his legs, I promise it wasn’t creased.. it’s the wind lol!
Our cake was made by a close friend, it was caramel mudcake with vanilla buttercream. So delicious. Our cake topper was from Etsy, got it shipped over from a lady in England.. made of polymer clay. Expensive, but worth it! I adore it. We’re holding light sabers because my husband is a mad Star Wars nut.
