We had our tasting last night, and i wish i took pictures, but i hadn’t brought my camera and didn’t even think about using my cell phone. The food was so yummy though, and everyone loved it. Fiance and I brought along both of our moms and my 2 MOH’s.
For our cold hor dourves we’re going with duck rolls with a ponza sauce SOO good! blackened scallops topped with guacamole, and brioche topped with strawberries and brie.
For our hot hor dourves we’re having, coconut langostino with a plum sauce, jack daniels glazed beef satay, and shredded mango bbq pork on a sweet potato cake (my favorite, mmm)
The three entrees we tried were:
chicken franchaise (spelling? lol)
salmon roullaides with crab meat which was everyones favorite!
and shrimp and scallop scampi.
we chose the first 2 and will also be having prime rib at a carving station.
We got to try 3 cakes, we tried red velvet with cream cheese icing, chocolate chip cake with buttercream frosting and a vanilla cake with a raspberry filling which nobody liked. I’m thinking about having different layers be different flavors.
We also set the date for our rehersal and talked about some details. I can’t believe that the wedding is less then 7 months away…and i really wish we had some more of the food from last night lol.
How did everyone elses tasting go? Was there anything you just didnt like?
The cake was the only thing everyone didn’t like. And the one cold hor dourve we didn’t go with cas cajon seasoned beef (it reminded everyone of a cold cut) but was still yummy. And the one hot hor dourve we didn’t choose was italian stuffed mushrooms.
