…And we have already sent out the STDs! (which include our website)
I recently discovered minted.com and see how beautiful their websites are. I want to use theirs! I thought all of the pretty ones were premium but it turns out this website is not! ugh!!
I think we will definitely pick a new website layout but I guess we are wondering if we should just have guests who go to our current site use a link on the home page to go to the new site…. Or just put our new site on our printed invitations. We intend for guests to RSVP on our wedding website.
Thoughts? Our wedding is less than 6 months away! 🙁

can you redirect the link?

I wouldn’t create a new website if I were you. That’s just confusing. It’s just a website – nobody remembers the website after the wedding date. They only remember the wedding 🙂

i’ll have to find out… the current website is through mywedding.com. i was just thinking to put a link to the new one on the old site.

Redirect if you can, but if not clear every bit of info off except for the link to the new site. And put the new url on invitations.
But I really don’t think the website is a huge deal. No one will remember it, they’ll remember the wedding! So don’t waste time remaking one unless you really, really want to.

I wouldn’t change websites at this point. I think it will cause too much confusion with the RSVP’s.

Yes, that’s what I was thinking. Erase everything and just have the new link.
We will sit down this week and look at it. I don’t want to order and resend STDs. Both myself and my Fiance are very detail driven people and if it bothers us, it will continue to bother us. Hah. I was willing to let it go but since it bothers him too… 😉

No one will notice. The only things guests use a wedding website for are to RSVP, get registry info, and possibly for hotel blocks. Just leave it alone, I guarantee no one will care about the color or design.

I used my wedding. Ours was pretty nice looking – there are tons of layouts to choose from, I’m surpirised you don’t like it anymore. My only problem with it was the photos were tiny and that sucked.
Anyway what I really came here to say is no one actually seemed to care about our wedding website at all, hardly referenced it. I’ve barely glanced at the ones my family/friends have had either – just long enough to find out where they’re registered! Focus on something else and don’t stress about this.

I honestly wouldn’t worry this much about it. I get it, I am not a big fan of mine. We sent out the STDs 2 weeks ago and 8 people have looked at the site. People just do not seem to care about it that much

This same thing happened to me. I ordered my STD after making my wedding website and realized Minted has a matching site! I was bummed and thought about changing it but it seems to complicated. I don’t want to confuse people, and it is such a little detail in the long run. As people mntioned about, I feel like people really only look at them for like a minute.

I don’t think I’ve ever looked at a wedding website. I wouldn’t worry about it.

I wouldn’t worry about it or take the time to change it. I can honestly say that I’ve never looked at a couple’s wedding website.

Trust me. No one cares what your wedding website looks like. It’s not a keepsake or memento, so dont drive yourself nuts and just leave it how it is.

hahaha, thanks ladies. I am thinking it will be less stressful to just leave it. Hmm. Ugh. The theme and header is fine. I just hate the arial font on every -single- option and the photos are tiny and not centered…… But it is a place for helpful information…..
*sigh* (it’s so ugly)
