After months of research, the fella and I have found the perfect place for our wedding… We are officially getting married at Roche Harbor Resort on San Juan Island on May 5, 2013. Did any other bees feel like things were “really happening” once they booked the venue? I’m very excited we decided to go with a location that was all-inclusive… We will only be responsible for cake, decor, and music which will help since it’s a destination wedding. Now that we’re booked, I just can’t turn off my planning brain!
Bees: When did you start looking at dresses? I’ve heard you want to order 6-8 months before if possible, which gives me plenty of time, but to be honest I’m just so excited I want to go start trying things on now! My pinterest board is exploding!
For all you brides that have found a venue recently, congratulations! For those of you still looking, good luck! I know you will find the perfect place!

as far as a dress goes if you think won’t change your mind I say go for it. It is one more thing off the list and paid for.

Yay!!! That is super exciting! Once we booked our venue, it felt surreal! Honestly, I went looking for a dress a week after being engaged ( we are having a 6 month enagement so I had to be fast) bc I wanted to make sure my dress would be in, I found it on my first visit and I ordered it in March and it will be here in June. It really depends on the salon and brand. I would start looking in a few months, but you do have a bit of time. Congrats and can’t wait to hear about your planning!!!

@Bunny_Bells09: Congratulations! I know as soon as we booked officially it felt surreal and like things were starting to happen!! And that I could stop stressing out about venues being booked a year or two ahead of time! Lol.
I had been looking at dresses online since we booked the venue in Feb but did the first trying on session two weeks ago. Booking made me want to go crazy and start dress shopping. The shops I went to said about 4-6 months until it’s delivered. I am going back this weekend to try on “the dress” and hopefully order it.
