BRbride2O16:  I’m sure with accessories you’ll differentiate.

Lol to your comment about being the only one with your dress. Tbh, that can’t be avoided if you purchased a whole dress…thats why I got my dress fully custom made.

the weddings are so far apart that I highly doubt anyone will notice. If you love your dress, keep it!! No two brides are alike!

This is why I went with an older dress lol Well it is still in style it is from a 2013 collection. I love it I got it for a hell of a deal and I know chances of anyone I know (i know 4 brides right not lol) wearing it is slim to none.

So long as you buy a store bought dress, it’s never going to be the ‘one-of-a-kind’ dress. What makes it special is you loving it.

Unless the dress is completely out there, as in low back, funky busstle, ‘see-through’, etc, no one is going to notice, except her, if she is attending your wedding. You’ll look great. Don’t sweat it.

As with PPs, I highly doubt anyone will even notice. Please don’t stress over it and just love your dress!

I went through something very similar only I hadn’t bought mine yet. I posted a thread too and everyone said to just get it anyway. I kept looking and found something I loved so much more. My point though is that if it was the dress that was really for me, then some old friend of mine having it wouldn’t have made a difference. If you know its YOUR dress and can look past it being the same as your friend’s as well then you’re good. Plus everyone is right, it will look so different once you’ve styled it with your wedding and accessories.

BRbride2O16:  a girl I went to college with got married 3 months before me in my exact dress. I saw it on facebook too! It was too late to change then, and I still loved my dress anyway. It really bothered me – we weren’t super friendly but I still wanted to be unique and there was some overlap in our guests. Anyways, I took the straps off (was planning to do that anyway) and added a pearl/diamanté applique to the waist (instead of the bow that it came with) to make it ‘mine’. Nobody noticed that they were the same and I pointed it out to a friend (who gives very blunt opinions!) who said she wouldn’t have known they were the same dress and she saw both in person. So your style/accessories will make it ‘yours’ and don’t worry about the other girl.

Unless it’s the same damn David’s Bridal dress that 7 brides I know have worn, I wouldn’t even notice unless I was the bride. Where that dress with pride!

BRbride2O16:  Are you totally sure the dress is the same? Some dresses are SO similar! Maybe hers is an Allure dress that just looks very similar to your dress.

Either way, nobody will notice. This is YOUR dress! You gotta keep it 🙂 Be happy you get to oogle over photos of the dress on a real person! I am constantly searching the internet for pictures of “real brides” in my dress.

BRbride2O16:  OK, so first of all, I get your freaking out about it. The closer I get to my wedding, the more I start freaking out about stuff I thought I didn’t care about. We’re going to a wedding this weekend where there will be exactly 1 other couple in common with our wedding and I’m terrified this girl is going ot have the same dress as me. This is not rational thought. haha. That said, no one is going to remember her dress a year later (except her of course). I love all my friends dearly and I can only remember 1 of their dresses, and that is because it had a very unique skirt. I’m sure you’ll look lovely and no one will notice.
