Ekkk! I am so excited I have been trying to find my perfect ring and I wanted to combine 3 designs I have seen so I have drawn my dream ring and I’m hoping that it can be designed and still be within or under our budget.
I am so excited to suprise my SO with the matching wedding bands I have been working on as I want him to be part of the process too they can easily be modified.
I wanted to thank all you lovely bees for your inspiration and advice.
I really want to stay within budget so I am going to go for white gold. Any thoughts?
Love, Lu xx

If white gold suits you, then go for it! That is so exciting though! Keep us updated if you can – I’d love to see a pic or get a description once the design is finalized.

Of course I will post pictures but I think I’ll post them in April when I’m officially engaged. I wanted to start the process of designeing now though because I don’t want it to be rushed.
My design so far in my head is a bezel but in kind of catherdral setting but not as high with a baby diamond in the centre. I hope it’s not impossible to create.

That is very exciting! My only comment about white gold is that you will have to send it away periodically to be re-rhodiumed i.e.made pretty and shiny again. My wedding band from my first marriage was white gold and I had it redone after about two years. I have my fingers crossed for platinum tbis time around but I would also settle for one out of a gumball machine lol! Happy designing!

As long as you know what you want, and you’ve considered how practical your design would be for day to day life (for example, my dream ring would be a 2ct tanzanite with a pearl halo and lots of open-ended vine loop detailing, but with daily wearing that ring wouldn’t last six months), then I think you’re on the right track. Care to share your drawing with us? I love unique settings, and I’m excited for your progress as well.
