We swapped e-rings!!!
Well, not exactly. My fiancée surprised both herself and myself with a desire to have a more “traditional” e-ring than the super simple diamond and gold band that I proposed to her with. I agreed with her right away because part of me always felt a little guilty about not getting her a more traditional looking ring, but really we aren’t traditional people and I tried my best haha. I also felt like my old e-ring suited her small fingers better and she really loves it so I transferred ownership of the ring over to her and then we ordered my new engagement ring! 🙂
I have kind of been regretting not going for a yellow gold or rose gold ring in the first place because really yellow gold is the only color metal I normally wear. But modern yellow gold engagement rings can be really hard to find unless you want a solitare with YG band and WG/PT prongs, and I personally like rings with some diamonds either in the band or on either side of the center stone. After a short while of hunting I found a lovely, yet still affordable, vintage YG trilogy ring that I love. And now I have to play the waiting game over the next several weeks until my new ring gets here!

I think that’s awesome! Now she has a beautiful ring that she loves and you will, too! WIN WIN! 🙂 Very beautiful ring, btw!! Please, post photos once it arrives! Do you have any pics of your old/her new ring? 🙂

Congratulations on your engagement!! I’m super happy for you and your Fiance. Your new ring is beautiful. I love the design of it, and the yellow gold is so pretty. I hope you’ll post pics once you have it on your finger!

Thanks guys! I can’t wait to get it, and I will certainly post pictures of it once I have it! It is from etsy and the shop owner is currently on vacation so it wont be shipping until May 8th, and then we have to wait until it goes through international shipping from Canada to the US.
Here are some pictures of the other ring that was previously “mine” and is now “hers” 😛
We’re saving the dainty band for her to use as her wedding band and I will likely be getting a simple plain gold band that’s 2-3mm to wear eventually 🙂
ETA: We also had the old ring resized down from a 7.5 to a 5.5 so now it appears much more proportinal to the small dainty diamond, which we both like. We both strongly prefer small diamonds, but I think a single 0.20 carat diamond was far too small on my finger. The new ring has a 0.25 center stone and each side stone is 0.10 carats so I think it will look a little more proportionate on my size 7 finger.

Both your rings are gorgeous! I may be biased though, because I love and have a three stone and a marquise, hehe! Can’t wait to see pics once you have it 🙂

Thanks all! I’m honestly a little upset at the moment though…
I showed one of my “friends” a picture a few minutes ago via text and she was really rude to me! I was shocked. She thought it was stupid that my fianée got my ring and thought I should have just bought her a new one. I understand that some people feel like a ring should be picked out specifically for them and not bought used or second hand, but my and my Fiance do not think that way. For us the rings are important yes, but they’re still just rings. I have lots of rings, but I only have one FI!
Also she thinks the prongs on my new ring are ugly and she thinks the diamonds are lower quality than what the seller listed them as being. I’m officially done being friends with her seeing as she has had a long streek of being a major jerk.
My Fiance was always looking at the ring I got her and she liked the tiny sparkles it had in the sun so I started wondering if she was trying to hint at me that she wanted a bigger diamond. I finally got is teased out of her that she just wanted a ring that looked more like a classic engagement ring because people weren’t really recognzing that she was engaged. We started looking at rings online a bit and it came up that I loved all the yellow and rose gold rings so she started pressuring me to get a yellow gold ring. I told her that I didn’t want to buy a new one because I already had a ring and that’s when she decided that she would take it. I think it was her secret plan to steal it from me all along, lol.
So now we’re both very happy with rings that fit our wants more closely. And I’m irritated that my “friend” is being so judgey about the whole thing. It’s not like we’re just left and right buying $10,000 diamond rings and tossing them out or anything, our rings are both very affordable because we like simple jewelry and we don’t want to spend all our money on something like jewelry at this point in our lives.
And yes, the prongs are not what you commonly see in super fancy modern rings, but the ring is old and I love the design and it matches a lot of other rings that have been passed down to me from my grandmother so honestly I want to tell my friend to suck it haha.
Sorry to turn this into a weird rant thread. Rant over.

Sorry about your bitchy friend! They’re all beautiful rings, and I think it’s sweet that a ring that was on your finger, representing your love, is now on her finger instead, and everyone is happy (:
