We knew this had gone too far, but this is disgusting and unforgivable

More disgusting and unforgivable than the insurrection and the sitting president and several others who incited it? Mkay.

I’m a wildlife biologist and this seriously makes me want to puke. Manatees are the most beautiful and gentle creatures ever. FUCKING HELL I HATE PEOPLE. Trumper people, to be specific.

I love manatees so much. Being close to them is absolutely awe-inspiring, and they’re truly gentle giants. For someone to do this… that person absolute scum and I hope someone comes forward to report them.
I’ve seen a lot of people try to justify it with “it was only algae!” This is part of a manatee’s protection from the elements. Scraping the algae from their backs can lead to skin irritation, infections, and sunburns.

Absolutely disgusting in every way. Of course, humans don’t have a terrific track record when it comes to treating animals with kindness.

Unfortunately this is who we are as a country. There’s a huge segment of the population that is truly ugly. As an animal lover I am sickened, but I find animals to be more valuable than most human beings.

This is so horrible. I’ve always felt that cruelty to animals is absolutely on par with cruelty to children, people who do either one just make me sick. I can’t understand what kind of moron would even have this cross their mind, let alone act on it.

It made me cry and feel nauseous to read about it. I grew up in south FL and have so many wonderful memories of boating along with manatees.. they are so graceful and gentle. Pure evil

People deserve to die out and give this planet back to the other animals. We are a scurge.

it’s infuriating and senseless. Truly, imagine being so mentally wrapped up in something that you could commit an act like this.
It’s psychotic. And delusional. And pathetic.
