We’re kind of doing things backwards (still waiting for the official proposal) but we made each others wedding bands yesterday! It was so much fun!! If anyone’s interested we made them at The Devil’s Workshop in Toronto. They hold a wedding band workshop every saturday. They also take pictures throughout the workshop and burn them on a cd for you!! You measure, cut, form, solder, form and polish! Labour intensive but so worth it! 🙂

- Wedding: September 2014 - Banff, Alberta
That is so cool! How much was the workshop? Wonder if there is another place closer to me that does that.

@Pixienickie: It was $300+tax per couple plus materials. We chose 14k yellow gold. Alberta is a bit far but the other couple that was with us (they do two couples at a time) drove from Montreal that morning!!
@sheepandbear: thank you!

@kerpao: i love it!! how long did it take? what other metals could you choose from? do you get to pick the style and width of the band or are they all the same? do you end up paying for the weight of the gold used plus the fee?
we are already married and have our bands but my cousin is getting married next summer. i have to send her this idea. she’ll love it. is there a website that she can check out?

Those are GORGEOUS! My great grandfather made my great grandmother’s band, and it’s the most precious heirloom in our family!

@pineapplez17: Boston isn’t TOO Far 😛 10hour drive, no big deal. Crash at our place for a weekend and take us for lobster if we ever visit Boston. I think that’s a fair deal haha.
@Love_That_Never_Ends: Yes, especially since I’m going to be a one ring bride 🙂
@mypinkshoes: There’s more info on the website http://www.thedevilsworkshop.ca/ but yes you can decide the width, i thought 3mm was too thin and 4mm to thick so I went with 3.5mm, half round, and when SO was sanding he sanded the edges in to make it slightly comfort fit. His is 6mm, rectangle style with tiffany comfort fit. Oh yeah, my ring was 1.5mm thick, his was 2mm. You can do sterling silver, yellow or white gold in 10k,14k,18k and i think 22k for yellow. We went with 14k yellow. Before Tax, Workshop $300 + My ring $220, Dan’s ring $605, total after taxes $1300-1400 for both rings 🙂 Experience, PRICELESS
@BrandNewBride: That’s so sweet!! Men aren’t that romantic anymore! But I’m glad he agreed to do the workshop with me 🙂 Although he kept complaing that the ring was small and hard for him to sand. In exchange, his ring took almost half an hour longer to complete!
@diamondsforevershine: It’s a lot of fun and somewhat educational! It was fun process and i’d love to do it again if it wasn’t so darn expensive. We wanted to make a night out of it but it was pouring 🙁
@jwdesiree: Denver’s also almost only a 24hour drive. no big deal! 🙂
