@MrsDrRose612:  Believe it or not, I was just thinking about this yesterday. I  know there are SOOO many people out there who need healing, and I was telling God that I wish that I could pray for healing for someone on Weddingbee, and your post showed up today.

I hope that the song “Healer,” sung by Kari Jobe in the YouTube link below, will bring some encouragement to your heavy heart this afternoon:

I’m sending out thoughts for your aunt and your family. I can’t believe this was from the flu! I hope she will recover soon.

I have twice experienced a sudden illness and death in my family and its sooooo hard!!!!

My cousin had a migraine one day so stayed home in bed, her husband kept checking on her periodically and then realized she wasn’t responding, rushed her to ER and they threw her on life support, she was gone the next day – Meningitis!!!

My aunt went to the hosptital because she was feeling extremely tired and had no energy over the course of 2 weeks – couldn’t find anything by the tests.  She ended up on life support for about 4 days – discovered it was multiple myeloma and she would not get better, she was already brain dead!

my mom also was on the verge when she was so sick one time, they discovered it was Diverticulosis.  The night I raced the 2 hours to the hospital to see her, I looked at her and thought “wow, she looks like death already” …. Drove back home and found out later that she did almost die that night.  Thanks to a nurse who ignored her cries for help and told her to settle down she’s fine.   Another nurse came and looked at her and rushed her to surgery right away.  Saved her life.

its so horrible!    I don’t pray but my thoughts are with you Through this terrible ordeal.

@MrsDrRose612:  My SO is a nurse, I COMPLETELY understand lol I think they have to have a “follow the facts” attitude to do their jobs because if they used emotion and hope, it’d probably mean a lot of let downs when patients die. I can’t imagine dealing with sickness and death daily, idk how they do it.

I don’t want to give you any false hope or make this seem absolute, but I have seen patients so very sick and against all odds come back and make a near or full recovery after going through respiratory failure, multi organ failure and the like. I will pray for you that this is the case with your aunt, as well. Of course, I don’t know the specifics, but keep strong and hope for the best.

Sweetie, you’re doing everything you can do from several hours away.  Know that your aunt can feel your positivity, love, and warm thoughts.  I sincerely hope for a miraculous recovery- count me in among everyone else sending positive thoughts & healing wishes her way 🙂

First of all, I am so sorry you are going through this. This is an extremely hard situation for everyone involved.  I really empathize with you and your family.  Almost this exact situation happened with one of my family memebers last year.  She was fine one day, had a cough the next, and was on life support within another 24 hours.  She progressed very quckly to pneumonia and her oxygen was never above 75% with the respirator in overdrive.  We ended up taking her off life support because she just couldn’t fight off all the infections in her body, and it was the hardest family discussion I’ve ever had to be a part of. This was obviously a different case and yours will have a different outcome, but sometimes it helps me to know that someone has had a similar experience.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I’m thinking about you and your family.  I hope and pray that your aunt pulls through.  If you need to talk to someone about it, I know I’m a perfect stranger, but I have an open ear, so feel free to message me.

Edited to add:  If there is anyway you can take off work to go visit your aunt, do it.  I am so glad that I was able to say goodbye to my family member, and I wouldn’t trade that time for anything in the world.
