My two favorite spots in the Caribbean are Ochos Rios, Jamaica and the Bahamas.  I stayed at Sunset Jamaica Grande and at the RIU in the Bahamas.  I wasn’t crazy about Punta Cana, DR.  I went to St. Lucia for my honeymoon, and it was very nice.. but if I had to pick the one, it’d be Jamaica.

I liked Turks and Caicos. The water is the bluest/nicest I have ever seen.  The only thing is that it was maybe a little too much relaxation for me.  There is nothing else much to do besides relaxation.  I think I might be too bored to stay for more than a week.  If you have at least 2 weeks time would you be opened to going further away?  Like Asia or Australia?

Another vote for Turks and Caicos. It was beautiful! Puerto Rico is also fantastic. There’s lots to see and it’s an island of beaches!

I’ve always enjoyed the US Virgin Islands. The bahamas and the Domincan Republic are really nice, too. I personally didn’t care for Jamaica, but I’ve only been there on a couple of cruises so I didn’t have much time to explore.

I’ve heard Aruba is fabulous and pretty inexpensive. A couple of my coworkers go there every summer and its prettier & cheaper than going to Ocean City for a week(about a 3 hr drive from us)!

New Jersey. Haha. Kidding!

I will always vote for Bermuda.

@pengoala:  Bahamas is beautiful that time of year.

I’d say a cruise would be a great option only if you want to be active and get off the ship each day to explore. If you want to just be lazy and relax by the pool or on the beach I’d vote for an all inclusive resort somewhere. Waaay more laid back and so nice to just show up and grab food and drinks whenever you want without having to plan.

I vote Couples Negril in Jamaica.

we have also looked into Palm Island in the Grenadines.  But its a tiny island with only one resort, if you really want relaxation and privacy.   It looks nice.

@charmedbee:  hahaha. Unfortunately, I live in the shore areas and many are still destroyed. It should be an interesting summer!

Sorry, don’t mean to thread jack!

I went on a cruise around the USVI once and just totally fell in love with St. John. It’s so beautiful and pristine.

We were thinking of doing a Caribbean vacation sometime soon too, but I think that’s going on the backburner for a bit. Too many other things going on! 🙁

@Rouquine:  OH I know.. I just saw pictures that were taken last weekend and I am heartbroken.  Again.   I am a S Jersey shore girl, but either way, I have SO many fond memories of going down the shore.  Even now, it’s not a question of where we are going, just when.  I still have not accepted that it will not be the same.
