Well, we were married 6 months ago, and we didn’t have money to save for a honeymoon, so we were planning to go in February of this year, which would have been nice to escape the cold WI winter. However, my Darling Husband at the ripe age of 28 has begun school in the medical field, which leaves us even tighter with cash. So here we are, in December with $70.00 saved. Thank God we had a “mini-moon” in Chicago, but now I fear I will never get our honeymoon. The second best thing to look forward to when getting married! 🙂
What about you?

@missa2152: I won’t be getting married until July but we will have a honeymoon the Monday after the wedding (which is on Saturday)… We are going to start TTC right after so we figured this could be our last “real” vacation with just the two of us 🙂 …(unless my mom want’s to be a sweet person and babysit, lol)…. so we are going to do a two week vacation….1st week in DisneyWorld and 2nd week in Cancun….
I think it’s ok that you didn’t have a honeymoon IF you both are ok with that…. but if you REALLY want one… just continue to save and maybe on your one year anniversary, you two can do something!!

- Wedding: October 2011 - Bed & Breakfast
No. We had a mini-moon scheduled for the weekend after our wedding. Then my Grandfather died 7 days before our wedding, and suddenly going away for a romantic mini-moon was the last thing on my mind. So we cancelled our trip and that’s that. We are taking DS on a spring break family vacation. Nothing romantic there. Oh, and we’re buying a house and kissing almost 80% of our savings goodbye on the downpayment. Romance? I think not. I informed Mr. LK that we will be taking a big trip for our 5 year anniversary, and that it will be an extremely belated honeymoon. LOL

We went to a close-by bed and breakfast for a weekend trip with a Living Social travel deal. For us, it was a nice break and the first vacation we’d ever had together. It’s not your typical Figi honeymoon, lol, but it was special and i’m glad we did it.

we went a few days after the wedding, we drove to a romantic couples resort about an 1.5 hours away from us. It was kind of a mini moon we stayed for 3 days and 2 nights but we had a blast. They had a lot of activities both indoor and outdoor including water sports. It was a nice simple honeymoon and we loved it and it didnt cost us a fortune.

we are getting married in a few weeks and haven’t decided yet, lol!

We got married 2 1/2 years ago and never took one. We were building a house, Darling Husband was starting a new career and we just didn’t have the time or see the need. We don’t regret it at all or feel down about it.

I hate planning things, so wedding planning was all I could handle. but I took two weeks off during that time–one week to prep, one week to recover.
next year, we’ll go to europe, and I’ll be able to give that trip the planning it deserves.

I said right after, but really it was almost one month after– close enough.
I think you should plan on a trip for your one year anniversary. Even if it is something small, it sounds like you really want one and it is something to look forward to. Keep an eye out for deals from places like Travelzoo, Living Social, etc.

We just cancelled our mini-moon to Quebec City after the wedding. I was really upset, but it was the financially responsible thing to do.
We are hoping to go to Florida in April, but we will be staying with my parents at their condo, so I’m not sure how much of a honeymoon that will be either. At least it will be a vacation!

I’m not a newlywed, but my Fiance and I are getting married in August 2012. We were going to have our honeymoon two days after the wedding, but simply can not afford it so soon afterwards, so we are pushing it back 7 months to March. It’s right after Valentines Day, in between our birthday’s and a nice way to break up the winter! Plus it gives me something to look forward to. Flights to Kauai are expensive as is, let alone food, car rental, gas, and activities. A little more time gives us much more money to work with.
Our wedding location is in a vacation area as is, so we are spending a few days after the wedding there to just relax and enjoy it and spend time with our family since it’s a destination wedding for them.

Darling Husband and I have been married for 5 months and we haven’t had a honeymoon yet. We planned to take a trip for our 1 year anniversary, but I don’t know if that will happen since we’re going back to GA (from OR) in May for a week for a friend’s wedding. I don’t know if we’ll be able to afford both.
I didn’t vote because none of the options seem to fit.

We went to the beach for our honeymoon, nothing spectacular. We really didn’t have time to plan a real one, and we were hesitant to go away during hurricane season. Since it was September, beach houses were cheaper, so we just rented a place for a week.
Our official honeymoon has been booked for the last week of April now. We are super excited!

Nope, never took one. We didn’t have the money! I’d like for us to go on a “Baby moon” before our second baby is due.

We got married in July and did not go on our honeymoon yet. We both had to go back to work after the wedding. We are in the process of planning it now so we can go in June. So I have been waiting months to go on our honeymoon. It is not booked yet but we met with a travel agent and really hope we book it soon. We plan to go to Singapore and go on a cruise from there to Vietnam, Hong Kong and China. I hope we book soon because I want it to be def. because I also have that fear what if we don’t go.
