Aw!  Congrats!  How exciting!

Dive into a hobby perhaps?  Go out and do something nice for you, or nice for SO?

We were going to go the custom design route, but it’s really turned into an awful experience so I think SO is going to get his money back and buy a different ring soon (the only ring we saw that we both liked on my finger).  He’s been antsy because he wants to get engaged so bad, but wanted to have the ring.  I’ve just been antsy!

At first when we started talking to the custom ring designer it was pretty easy to think about other things.  Now getting engaged just consumes most of my thoughts.

@MarshmallowLatte:  First off, OMG how exciting! I JUST got mine on Saturday (11.10.12) and I’m still a driving hazard (and probably will be for a few more days.) We went the custom route as well, and it took about 3 weeks. So worth the wait, but it was hard to not ask about it. What helped me was remembering that this is the LAST time I would be able to call him my boyfriend, and I kind of savored that. Just remember that the less you talk about it, the fewer hints you get, the more exciting and wonderful that day would be.

When all else fails, try my top 5 activites to keep you busy while waiting:

1. Eat. Eat. Eat. You cant talk when your mouth is full.

2. Drink. You can’t talk when you’re chugging wine. Just be careful with this one, as too much drinking tends to have the opposite effect of shutting up.

3. Exercise. The most beneficial strategy, but not always the most fun.

4. Sleep. Much more fun, and you look totally refreshed.

5. Stalk wedding websites, blogs, and dress designers. And the Bee πŸ™‚

@BlondeBee:  Love it! Although I need to cut down on #1 and amp up #3 or I will be 10 pounds heavier by the time I get engaged! Ha ha

@MarshmallowLatte:  YAY! SO EXCITING!

Just prepare for a long wait! My ring was supposed to take 4-6 weeks (so of course I was hoping 4) and it’s been 6 1/2 and it’s still not here and I’m dying.

Keep yourself busy! Then you don’t sit around sulking about not having it yet πŸ™‚

You can work on your wedding Pinterest, eat whatever you want (you may not need to, but if you’re like me, once the date is set, it’s diet time!) read some good books, and of course get your nails done. πŸ˜€ Since it’s just about the holidays, you could really throw yourself into that this year–bake several pies, lots of batches of cookies, volunteer to do the turkey, hand-make everyone’s gifts and then not stopping until the wrapping paper is perfect, etc.
