I have some exciting news!! My boyfriend and I started looking at rings together last weekend. We wanted something estate and/or antique and local, so it wasn’t too difficult to narrow down where to look. After going to several local jewelers and looking at many beautiful rings, I think we finally found ‘the one’….
(above: the top white gold ring is the one, compared to another favorite)
It’s from the 1920’s or 30’s Art Deco period. I’ve never seen a design quite like it out of all the places we’ve looked so far. On the downside, it is at the maximum end of what we want to spend…We said $3,500 was our max, and it’s right at $3,500. I’m not sure if I can justify spending our max price when we’ve seen several rings that we could easily get for under $2,000 that I would be happy with. But I do love it! Just wish it was closer to the $1,500 range like some of the others we’ve seen…the center stone is 0.61 carats, SI2 clarity/G color. What do y’all think? The plan is to let my boyfriend know which ring I want so he can go and pick it up later and plan a time to propose within the next couple of months!

Hmm the second picture doesn’t appear to be showing up, so here it is:

I think its gorgeous! I love unique antique styles and this is both! The only thing is it may be tricky to find a wedding band to compliment without a huge gap. Depends on what you like though. Maybe a simple band will be perfect so it won’t take away from that beauty!

It is gorgeous! However, if you really want to get something less expensive, etsy has some beautiful vintage rings. I know that wouldn’t be local, but you may want to look.

it is gorgeous!!!! Honestly, if you love it, pick that one. You don’t want to live with regretting not getting it. I have a vintage ring, too! I love how unique vintage rings are.

It’s lovely and it sounds you really love it. As long as it is within your budget I don’t see the problem with getting what you love!

But you may see if the price is negotiable and see if you can get it for 3k.

The ring is in your budget. It’s for LIFE! No better reason to get what you love. Skimp on something else wedding related.

I would see if they could bump the price down for you. That’s the nice thing about vintage rings 🙂

It’s very pretty! If this is the ring you love and want to keep forever, then I think you should get it since it’s exactly in budget! You can always ask if the price is firm. If it is firm and they do not want to go any lower then no harm done! If you never ask then you never know 🙂
