- Wedding: April 2012
Holy cow was that last month and a half of planning INTENSE! I am glad to say that the main goal of getting me and David hitched was a whopping success, with lots of minor problems of course!
I am so glad I didn’t go into this thinking everything would be perfect. Our outdoor Niagara Falls brink wedding was supposed to go off as planned until we woke up on April 1st and found it was hailing and sleeting!! OH NO! We did get to move to the backup plan (so glad I reserved the church!). The elevators at our hotel stopped working while all my bridesmaids were trying to get to my room to help me dress (and I was on the 34th floor!!). The GPS took us to a cemetary instead of the church (at which point I nearly lost my marbles!)… and I was late to my own wedding. All said and done, it was great-and as soon as I was walking toward my now husband (accompanied by my dad on one arm and my son on the other) and saw the grin on his face, nothing else mattered AT ALL. I feel kind of silly honestly. I fretted over the tiniest details and wanted to do all these special little things…and I honestly feel like I wasted 6 months of my life on this stress that I will NEVER get back. It was worth it, yes… but had I known how I would be feeling at the time of the nuptuals, I could have cared less if I was in a burlap sack holding a bundle of dandelions!
Well, maybe not the burlap sack.. I did love my dress…
Here is the only sneak picture I have gotten so far. It’s me, my son (in the glasses), and my ringbearer at the hotel before we left for the church (I’m still actually being laced up in this pic LOL).
The photography thing is turning into a complete nightmare, but I will put that in its own separate post (yes, it’s that crazy).
APRIL FOOLS DAY WEDDING (NO JOKE)
