This has been a hard year for my fiancé and I. His father unexpectedly passed away, just a few months into our engagement. Two months later, my grandfather passed away. It has been a lot of grief during a time that should have been celebrated. We finally feel as though we are “coming out of the woods” if you will. We still grieve and there will be hard days, especially for my fiancé, maybe for the rest of his life after losing his father. However, we are almost back to our normal, day to day, lives. We decided to celebrate by upgrading my ring and recommitting to celebrating our engagement and this season in life!
We bought the setting today, the first picture is my CURRENT RING. The second picture is the setting we bought and the DISPLAY diamond. Just focus on the setting part! We are putting my emerald cut in the setting, the round is just display.

I am so sorry for your losses and grief , and I am glad you feel like you can see the light again.
TBH though , I think your actual engagement ring is perfectly beautiful , far more so than the new ring’s setting ( as if an internet stranger’s taste mattered, lol)

It’s going to look amazing! You’ll have to come back with pics once it’s set 🙂
Sorry for your losses.

natalec : Beautiful new setting. I love it! It will be beautiful with your stone in it, and I can’t wait to see pictures of it once it is complete. (Hoping you will post lots!)
I am very sorry for your loss and your fiancé’s loss. It is so hard when something happens to make a time of joy into a time of grief. I am glad that you are both healing, and I am certain you will come through this much stronger as a couple and more secure in your relationship. Sending love and hugs to you both!
