So last night my BF and I went ring shopping! I picked out a few things I liked and he took all the info for all of them. I am bursting at the seems with excitement! I am not telling anyone we went ring shopping as I don’t really want my friends and family asking about when he will propose. I am wondering enough for everyone, trust me.
My question here is, did you go shopping with your BF and if so how long did he wait until he proposed? I’m already a big planning type person and I am trying soooooo hard not to get the ball rolling. What did you do while you knew it was coming just no idea when?

We looked at rings May 2017 after our second anniversary. Over a year later and I know he hasn’t bought a ring…

I’m afraid that ring shopping is not usually a sign of an eminent proposal. My SO and I are ring shopping, but engagement is a least 1 1/2 years off. I have his ring though ;). We’re old and not in any hurry. If he buys then start getting excited, but it could still be months and months.

Right when we started talking about marriage, I sent him pictures of some rings I liked. I didn’t go with him because he wanted it to be a surprise. The actual proposal was about a year after this conversation.

My SO and i went ring shopping end of June. After a few weeks I basically asked him to be straight forward with a timeline because I knew I would be totally awful at waiting. He told me the ring is being made right now and he is gonna surprise me sometime in August. I know it takes some of the romance out of it to know details, but it’s made me feel way better about all of it because like you, I’m a total planner. So maybe just ask his timeline?
PS- how fun is ring shopping?!?!?

SO and I started talking about rings about a month ago. We went shopping 2 weeks ago and I had no expectations of him purchasing anything, but he bought it that day! The ring will take 6 weeks to be made so I have another month before it’ll be ready. I dont know if he’ll make me wait to propose. The jeweler will call me when it’s ready and we’ll drive the 2 hours to pick up it together so it wont be any secret when he has the ring. I have told him he can propose however and whenever he wants to because I know having it be a surprise was kind of important to him but I have a feeling he’ll do something low-key and sweet within a few days. (I hope I’m not wrong lol). Unless you have talked about timelines, try to not get TOO anxious & excited about it because it honestly could be quite a while before you officially get engaged. I’m already getting ahead of myself by pinning far too much stuff on my secret pinterest board lol.

3 months! We went in March and then went again in May while on vacation in a state we didn’t need to pay tax. He went back a few days later and bought the one we thought we wanted (Shane co.) and then in May we went to Oregon and he found one he loved and ended up buying that one at same company just no taxes. He waited about 6 weeks after having the ring 🙂

We went ring shopping together a couple times over the course of 2 weeks. On our last trip he bought a ring while I was there, and proposed the next night.

I’m in the same boat! We just went ring shopping last weekend and we found THE ring. 🙂 Now I’m going crazy wondering if he’s ordered it yet. Once I had a taste of wearing that ring, I just want to have it permanently!

Why do we, as women, put ourselves through this shit?

I just went through this! We went ting shopping at the beginning of may and he proposed at the end of July, just about 3 months time. It was custom so it took about 6-8 weeks to make and find the right stone 🙂 good luck it’s an exciting time just try not to drive yourself crazy!

No because I felt the ring was his choice and responsibility. I only said nothing over a carat.

We started talking about actually getting engaged in January, I finally selected a stone for my ring in early May, he bought said stone in mid-to-late June, and we went ring shopping and selected the design of my ring Wednesday of last week. He put the deposit down last Friday and we got the CAD images earlier this week. Next step is me dropping the sapphire off at their office when they’re ready to set it, then from there I am going to tell my BF not to tell or show me anything until he’s actually proposing.
I’m going to drive myself crazy, most likely, but I love a good surprise. I’ve made it clear we need to get married in 2019 if he wants to be a dad before his 40th birthday, so we’ll see how well that has sunk in and if he makes me wait too long.

We went shopping a couple of times in the past two weeks, and I had found nothing I liked. I went shopping in Diamond district yesterday with my mom and sis visiting from Europe… And I found IT!!! One of a kind, unique piece. Texted him the pic while he was at work and he told me to have the guy put it on the side for him (perfect size, cannot be ordered). He has the center stone from my GGMA, and I cannot wait for him to go have the stone set and get the ring! Super excited. I bet he will propose in a few days from when he gets it in a very low key fashion…
