CONGRATS!!!

We also did small, we eloped locally with our mothers and our bestest friend each and then had a reservation at a restaurant on the water for about 20 of our immediate family and closest friends, it was stress free, fun, and super intimate. I always toy around with having something bigger someday, like a vow renewal BUT nothing will beat how special that day was for us, and everyone we had there we are still really close with, what kills me is the thought of having a huge thing and you’re inviting so and so that you haven’t seen for 10 years… and that to me just seems like too much! We did have a photographer but she was my cousin’s wife =)

ANYHOO! welcome to the married life!

YAY for small! =)

Congratulations!!  I remarried my ex-husband on July 4 of this year.  My dear, dear friend officiated.  Her husband, my bff and our children were the only people in attendance. We all went to dinner after and had a wonderful time.   We wanted something special to us, but we were married before for 24 years, so we didn’t want a wedding wedding.  This was perfect for us and I wouldn’t change a thing.

We did a private ceremony in a beautiful chapel in Tennessee. The package included a cabin stay for a few days and they provided flowers and even did my hair and makeup. And we got wonderful pictures that they took. It was so intimate and stress free.  Don’t regret it at all and wouldn’t change it for anything. We came back and had a reception for all our close friends and family and set our wedding album out for people to look at. We even cut the cake for everyone at the reception. My first wedding was a bigger wedding and a cried my wedding day because of the stress. Between the money and stress of trying to please everyone, I don’t regret this small wedding one bit 🙂

We’re having a engagement party at a restaurant for about 40 friends and family and then eloping alone to Hawaii.  Best of both worlds!  Your wedding sounds perfect bee!

achicago :  Congrats! Your day sounds so perfect and special.

We also did a small ceremony at a lake near our house with just immediate family followed by dinner at a restaurant nearby. It was perfect! I think going small is way underrated… its so much less stress and you really get to enjoy the moments with your spouse and the people most important to you both.

Sounds lovely! Congrats!

We went small: parents, siblings (and their SOs and children), grandparents, and 5 couple friends. Ceremony was in a local park, officiated by the mayor, and then a restaurant reception/party. It was perfect for us as we were able to spend time with all of our nearest and dearest and just have fun.

My ILs did insist on a “party” where they could invite all of those they felt we left out, but they hosted so they got to call the shots. and that was more exhausting than our wedding as we had to socialize with all these folks, most of whom I’ve only met once.

We did small with a beachfront ceremony and a pollside reception at my parents house. We went with a catering company that did a pasta, salad and dessert bar and set everything up while we were at the ceremony. And we didn’t do a separate reception or a vow renewal later. I was happy with what we had.
