Everyone is ok & nothing is missing, but still. I came back from my morning walk to find the police leaving my house wondering what the heck? They were responding to our alarm & the back door was wide open. The police went in & cleared the house. Evidently, the alarm spooked the creep & he ran without taking anything. Thank you, Simplisafe. Best $230 we ever spent & only $14.99/mo to monitor. I used to think I was being silly putting the alarm on in broad daylight when I wasn’t going to be gone very long.
What’s disturbing is that our side gate was not disturbed at all. Dh thinks it was the new kid who just moved in next door hopping the fence. Whoever it was, they were watching us.
The good news is, we’re moving to a GREAT neighborhood next week! We closed on our Forever Home last Tuesday!
I feel so fortunate. This could have turned out soooo much worse. I am so grateful that we have a lovely home waiting for us, the alarm did it’s job, the police responded promptly–everything just came together for us.

I’m sorry you got broken into bee, but what a lucky escape you have had. It is my worst nightmare being broken into. Glad you are ok!
I am the same as you – always put the alarm on even if I’ve just nipped next door!

I’m really sorry, that can’t be a good feeling at all. At least you’re moving away, good luck with the move!

Our cars got broken into one night and I felt a complete violation of privacy. I couldn’t imagine my house being broken into. I am so sorry that it happened to you.
Congrats on closing on your forever home, though. That is so exciting!

Ugh, there is no worse feeling but be glad your alarm scared them off. Our home was broken into in October and they made off with A LOT of our stuff, ransacked every room in the house. Luckily they were morons and left fingerprints everywhere, imagine our surprise when we find out they were 13 and already have prior felonies. One of them pleaded out and has been sentenced but “doesn’t remember” taking the things we listed as stolen (I even had receipts for most of the stuff including the 3 PS3 consoles they took including the serial numbers) so we have to go to a restitution hearing next month. The other idiot decided to take it to trial, this should be fun >:(
We have also purchased a simplisafe system!!

I’m so sorry Bee. It’s such a violation of trust and privacy. I’m glad no one was home and there was nothing taken. I wish u all the best in your new home. It might be a good idea for when u move to purchase an inexpensive camera that tracks movement, we have one pointing toward the driveway & garage and it takes still shots of movement. It gives us a piece of mind along with an alarm system..just an idea..
