Im assuming that because the poster made such a point of saying she won’t marry until lgbt people can, her decision surely won’t rest purely on the rights of American lgbt folk… Because that’d be a bit contradictory… global issue!  I say get married but get yourself to a lgbt centre to support people through actions that matter. Your marriage going or not going ahead doesn’t impact lgbt rights. Actwill however will.

Well I’m guessing that the OP is off of Wedding Bee because she made the decision earlier in this post not to marry in Washington State until Gay Marriage came into law.

So by extrapulation…

IF you aren’t planning a Wedding… no need to be on a Wedding Planning Website.

Hopefully, the amendment passed yesterday in the election and she’ll be planning a Wedding in Washington soon.

TO anahappilyeverafter:… sorry to say this, but I do feel that your posts have put a lot of pressure on the OP.

She clearly came here saying she was not out to change the world… just to make a statement on marriage in regards to her own life / Marriage / Vote / State / Political Front.

I don’t think it was fare to say she was being a hypocrite if she married IF Washington passed the Law, but other States didn’t and certainly not to say… make a bigger statement don’t marry until the whole world recognizes Gay Marriage

Sure I’d like the WORLD to be a better more welcoming loving place for everyone too

And I think I’d be more than likely to make a “small step” in the right direction… than maybe a grand gesture (if you look back at my first post in this topic, and the OP’s reply… she made it quite clear, she didn’t see her position as “taking a stand”)

She just saw it as postponing a Wedding because the friend she loved, who wanted to be her Officiant wasn’t able to also Marry in Washington… the OP was clearly just being sensitive towards her friend and the irony of the situation

And I applaud her for that.

But to say NOT MARRY AT ALL… I think that is a far bigger stance.  And maybe one the poster didn’t want to have to address… perhaps that is why she has left WBee.

Personally, though as I said I’d like to think it is just a case of the Wedding be ON HOLD and we’ll hear back from her soon with good news

@this-time-round:  and your entitled to your Opinion with regretfully I do not agree with For reasons already explained. I didn’t tell her not to get married, just pointing out her wedding impacts my rights in no way whatsoever an that I find it bizarre that someone post about supporting gay rights but only seems to think American gay rights count.  I’m done on this thread Though. Enjoy the forum.
