I haven’t felt anything like that (we’re also at 7.5 months), but we’re still usually doing 2 feeds a night. I also haven’t started up cycles again, so I don’t know. It’s nothing I’ve heard of.

Breast feeding releases oxytocin which contracts the uterus after pregnancy, promotes bonding, and helps with the milk let down process. The cramping is probably from the change in your oxytocin levels. If your preiod hasn’t retuend yet because it was delayed by breastfeeding then it should start around now. Rinse off a cabbage leaf and put it in the freezer for 15 minutes, then apply it to your breasts inside your bra for about 15-20 minutes. Once it’s wilted you should throw it out. Cold cabbage has been shown to help relieve breast pain and can help dry up your milk supply. They’re not sure why, they think it has something to do with estrogen in the plant. Avoid hot water on your breasts and apply ice as needed (15 on, 45 off) to provide comfort.
