Hello! I can’t decide if I should wear a veil or not. I’m not a big fan of wedding veils but I do think cathedral veils are georgous! But cathedral veils do not look good with every wedding dress. I’m wearing an all ivory Mori Lee 5101 and I will probably add a crystal sash. I don’t have pictures yet because it’s not in and I didn’t take pictures with the sample ombré version on. Is their anyone out there that has decided not to wear a veil and decided to wear a headband, flower or nothing at all? Or has anyone felt that veils cost waaaay to much and made their own? I would love to see pictures of all your ideas! Thanks!

Danrob86: i love veils.for me the veil made me feel lik “wow this is really happening” and for me it really put the whole look together. I dont think you can go wrong with a cathedral veil which is what i had
For your dress i would suggest a tulle veil and if you get a sah which would look awesome with it, maybe a veil that had an embroidered edge with silver to compliment the sash

I think your dress is so beautiful on it’s own! I’m not a big fan of veils, myself. I, personally, find them a bit traditional for my taaste. And your dress is so modern, I think it would looks best without a veil. It sounds like you don’t really want one, but are thinking you should because “that’s what brides do”. If that is the case, don’t worry about it. I didn’t have a veil and I felt plenty bridal. You don’t need one, if you don’t want one.

I personally like a simple veil with a wow dress and the opposite, a fancy veil with a plainer dress. That way the wow doesn’t compete either way. With your dress, I would love a single large flower in your hair or a tulle only veil at waltz length. It is long enough to look long but does not drape longer than your dress. This is all my opinion only. I do love your dress!

Daizy914: I couldn’t agree with pinkksnow more. The dress is gorgeous and has a lot going on. I think you’ll have clashing focal points by adding a long, super detailed veil. I would think anything above the elbows would look beautiful. I’ve been obssessed with Sara Gabriel (Ellen, Katie or Kendly Comb would look nice) designs.

I think your dress is amazing without an veil. Maybe do a hair piece and if you want a veil I would do a birdcage!

Danrob86: i was like you. not sure if i wanted a poofy thing on my head. but my Mother-In-Law begged me and im so glad i did it. I ordered it from etsy. a very light long drop circle viel sinular to the one above. I felt so beautiful plus i didnt realize how nervious i was and glad i could hide behind it lol. The picture with it were great, i felt like wearing it to bed lol. but I also (because i had to have my cake and eat it too) was that i had a rather thick headband/tiara from twigs and honey. that was my splurge for the wedding. it all fit together. I had ordered my headband, viel, and dress
on line and had no idea if it would work. but it did. 😉
I tried to upload a photo but this new site doesnt like my type of photos (they used to work before) ??
