I have been looking for a non-traditional type engagement ring and I thought this was an interesting idea.
Does anyone wear a band as their engagement ring? If so I would love to see pics.

I don’t, but I would have if I could of convinced my fi that this was a valid option. I absolutely love the look of a blingy band as the engagement ring and a plain gold band as a wedding ring.
Ambers61582: A woman I used to work with had a band for her engagement ring. I don’t know the diamond count, but I’m guessing it was 1-1.5 ct total weight. Her engagement ring band was prong set, and her wedding ring band was also diamond, but it was channel set. I think it looked cute, and was definitely her style. I don’t love mixing settings (prong vs. channel vs. bezel) but that’s my personal taste, and obviously she didn’t mind. You could also do a blingy engagement ring with a plain wedding band too, like PP suggested. But it’s definitely do-able!
This is not my engagement ring, I actually got it as a gift from my husband for my 30th birthday, bit I wear this set often and get compliments on it often.
I would totally rock something like this http://www.langantiques.com/products/item/110-3-3993

Or this stack:
i’ve seen it and love the look IF it’s of substantial width and bling 😉
My Darling Husband surprised me with a diamond wedding band as my ering. The only thing I would say is be sure you are ready for the stupid because the stupid will say things to you about the untradional or ‘weirdness’ of your ring (and surprisingly some came from his family. Go figure). I’ve attached a pic of my ring. I’m sorry it’s so large, I cannot for the live of me figure out how to resize on the new bee!
Ambers61582: I’m all for wearing whatever you want to wear. And your question got me to thinking, is there a definition of what IS a wedding ring and what is NOT a wedding ring? Hmmm. I know the standard is some sort of center stone as an e-ring and then a plain or blingy band. I guess by that definition I’m wearing an e-ring as my wedding ring. I only have one ring.
Absolutely!! This isn’t my engagement ring but rather my 10-year anniversary ring (sapphire & diamond eternity) – although if I had thought of it way back when, I would have chosen an eternity band just like this. I still love my e-ring, but this just fits my lifestyle better!
Ambers61582: I know that Queen Letizia of Spain received a baguette diamond band as her engagement ring. Very simple. I don’t have a pic (on my iPad and having issues uploading pics) but aim sure you can google it!
Ambers61582: I have one! vintagelover32 posted it on another thread (I was complaining about rude comments about my rings) and she very kindly pointed out Queen Letizia’s ring. Something in common with a Queen, why thank you very much!
Honey.Bee: Yours is absolutely gorgeous
I would defnitely consider it, but it would have to be something very special and unique like Honey.Bee’s. Here’s one I always loved:
circumambient: Thanks so much!!!! I love the beauty you posted – that’s right up my alley too. There’s something about a mixed cut band that sends my heart soaring :). Great choice!
