I have a half eternity “wedding” band with a kind of leaf engraving on the sides as my engagement ring. Big rocks aren’t for me. I love it, I never snag my clothing, and it’s pretty while not being over the top. I’m getting a plain band wedding ring. People have only ever told me how pretty it is. Your engagement ring can be whatever you want!

FutureDrAtkins:  Thanks!!!  Don’t mind at all – Blue Nile.  First time ordering through them and was very pleased.  They had the best price for the style I was after.  I believe it’s still available on their site – very comfortable and low-profile 🙂

A friend of mine had a diamond band for her engagement ring. Then oddly enough for her wedding band they got a 3 stone engagement ring. So her set now looks like a classic set, but it wasn’t received in standard fashion lol

RedHeadKel:  It also depends on things like your cultural background. For example, amongst my Finnish friends, band style engagement rings are more common and those who have stones in either ring tend to have them in their wedding rings.

This is my wedding band, but I would considering having at as my enagement ring and wearing a plain band with it. I think it’s a very classic look

wrkbrk:  Thank you!!!  Blue Nile – it’s still available on their site if you’re interested.  Very comfortable and sits low on the finger.  It looks like Blue Nile did a reproduction of Omi Prive’s design from a couple of years ago – with a lower price!!

a_day_at_the_fair:  That’s exactly what I did. My DH got the band as his mom has had her ring reset numerous times and he didn’t want that for me. But I’ve always dreamed of a 3 stone sapphire ring. So that’s my wedding ring! Oddly enough, the jeweler said that wasn’t unusual…

Ambers61582:  My Fiance got me a certified 1/2 carat tw band as an engagement ring at my request… I don’t really wear jewelry and no matter how many rings with a center stone I tried on, none of them felt comfortable to me. I like this route because there are so many options. I can get a traditional looking ring down the road as an anniversary ring, but that way I don’t have to feel obligated to wear it 24/7. I am fairly certain I will get a thin plain band for my wedding band… to me it would just look classy. I can also stack it up with different style diamond bands thrown in there as well, should I feel the need for more bling.

Forgive me if the picture is too big, I haven’t really gotten the hang at uploading/resizing photos yet!
