I am not married yet, but I am thinking I will not wear a wedding ring with my engagement ring because I worry it might be too gaudy

I’ve noticed several very wealthy older ladies wearing their ering on their right hands and wedding band on the left hand… very chic.

stcott :  I don’t but I know two people who only wear their e-ring and one who never bought a band. So they are still married and everyone knows it. 🙂

I have a band, but it’s very thin and half eternity but understated. My e-ring gets the center stage so to speak. To each their own!

kaitlinu :  I love your engagement ring. It is gorgeous. Many times I think that a wedding band takes away from the engagment ring as well.

msop04 :  In some cultures the wedding band is worn on the right hand. I have a close friend from Eastern Europe who told me that and wears her rings that way.

I never had an engagement ring originally, though I did get a wedding ring that was sort of a little fancier as a standalone. But, I changed my rings since then. I have some alternates – some I wear with a band, others not, but I now always wear my primary ring on its own. It looks better, feels better, and also does not play nice with other rings. It has never been an issue with anyone (not that I would care if it was!) I know MANY married women in real life who only wewr an ering, or an anniversary ring.

Sometimes.  I generally like e-rings better without a wedding band, the band seems to take away from the look of the e-ring to me.  I also sometimes just wear my band.
