LilRhodyGem: I am Roma. Here is some information of why comments like your make me sad and very offended. It is demeaning and shows a lack of cultural and historical understanding. I am not bashing you. I just want to let you know that comments like like are racist and not okay. http://groupthink.kinja.com/massively-racist-mainpage-article-on-gawker-1448655453

LilRhodyGem:  Well I flagged this comment and it is still up. I found three really good articles for you to read. I was so upset yesterday that I did not do a good job finding well written material.

i don’t think it’s a big deal at all. and honestly, how many people who were at your first wedding will even remember it if it’s different? almost none.

I had this exact same dilema.  I bought a new dress and donated my old one to a bride in need.  But I still think about how perfect my 1st dress was.  I know if I had worn the first one I would of thought of my first wedding the whole time.

Ukulele4You:  I had no idea that using “gypsy” was rascist and offending. I appreciate you schooling me on the topic. There are two definitions of the term in the Oxford dictionary: the first speaks to Romas, the second is about a nomadic or free-spirited person.

I hope you are able to move past my innocent remark.

OP, if your Fiance is happy with it then it’s fine.

You can get sleeves made and change the belt and perhaps even dye it to champage.

It’s a lovely dress and still looks very current! xxx

AmericanHoney121:  I agree. That is just bad luck and honestly a bit unfair to your fiance.
