I’ve been trying to decide what wedding band to pair with my e-ring and having a hard time deciding. I want something special and have been leaning toward a plain thin white gold band to match my Fiance. I love the micro bands with tiny diamonds, but part of me felt it was competing with my e-ring.
While looking at different ring options I was reminded of my grandmother’s ring. About two years ago my grandma gave me her original wedding band that my grandfather proposed to her with – I had originally planned to wear it as a necklace or just keep as something to always have to remind me of her. Tonight I tried on her ring with my engagement ring and loved the way it looked together and not sure why I didn’t think of it sooner.
I’m now debating whether I might use her ring as my wedding band?? FI said he loved the way it looks and thinks it would be a beautiful tribute to my grandmother (now 94 and we are very close – she jokingly tells me she is hanging on just to see us married in July!). Curious as to what you ladies think of the two together. I like mismatched bands, but also don’t want something that will completely clash with my e-ring.
First photo is just of her ring:
Her ring together with my e-ring:
Here is the look of just a plain white gold band:
I would love to get others thoughts? As another option, I could also use the diamonds from my g-ma’s ring and have it custom made into a new band.

It’s MEANT TO BE! I love it so much more than the plain band, it looks like a set and its so intricate. Also the meaning behind it is priceless. I really hope you do go for it, remember you can always get another band for a anniversary or special birthday.

Aww, your grandma’s ring looks perfect with your ring – better than the plain band imo. I think it’s so special too, that you would be wearing her ring!

I ADORE the way your grandma’s ring goes with yours. I don’t think it’s a competition at all, but a complement, framing your e-ring perfectly.

I think your ring and your grandmother’s look PERFECT together. And just imagine how happy she’ll be, when you show her after the wedding, what your wedding ring is. (Expect lots of happy tears!)
You could also have a thin gold band as ring #2- in case you’re doing something which could potentially damage your rings (sports, etc.)
