That’s exactly what I did. I wore my engagement ring on my left hand during the ceremony. Like you, my e-ring doesn’t fit on my right finger. My husband simply put my wedding band on top of my e-ring, and then I switched them at some point. No one besides the two of us would ever have noticed.

Yeah you could just have him put the wedding band “on top” of your ering during the ceremony and then switch them later.

I wore my e-ring on my right hand during our ceremony, with my promise ring, and then put it back on to my left hand right afterwards.

That’s my plan!  We’re having a Catholic wedding ceremony within a mass so I’ll have plenty of time after the actual ring exchange to switch them.  I’d feel naked without my engagment ring on my finger and I have a claddagh that I wear on my right hand ALL THE TIME and I don’t want to not wear it for our wedding since it too has significance to our relationship.

I’m wearing my mom’s e-ring on my right ring finger, but going to stack my e-ring on top of that for the ceremony. But I know plenty of people just have their husband put the ring on “top” of the e-ring, and flip them after the ceremony. No one but you two is going to notice, so do whatever works best!

Yeah I did the same.  I wore it then switched them after.  πŸ™‚

I’m planning on wearing mine – I love it so much, don’t want to take it off and I’ll switch them around after.

I am planning on wearing them the other way than most people do – e-ring on the bottom, wedding band on the top – I prefer it aesthetically and it is logical for me – first we got engaged and then married – the wedding band goes over the e-ring to “seal the deal” πŸ˜‰ So it is easy for me – I will wear it on the same finger as always πŸ™‚

But if I wanted to wear it as most people do, I would not wear it for the ceremony and let my husband to slip both rings on in the correct order.

i wore my e-ring on my left hand(as usual) for the ceremony. Darling Husband just slipped on the wedding ring. After we were pronounced husband and wife and went down the aisle, we quickly changed our rings and then went off to take some family pictures.

I’m so glad I saw this thread because I wanted to wear mine but didn’t know if it was completely “taboo.”

@Vlcatko:  I love this! I want to wear mine backwards for the same reason and that’s a great explanation for it!

@LoveMySailor1018:  I don’t think anyone will ever even notice if you wear it during the ceremony! Just my husband and our pastor saw my hands.
