I am wearing one of my wedding bands but leaving the other one and my e-ring at home! I don’t want to be freaking out about my ring the whole time I am in Mexico!

I honestly didn’t give it much thought, even though I had heard horror stories.  I wore one of my bands (I have 2) and left the other and my e-ring in the locked safe.  Darling Husband left his in the safe when we went on any excursions or swimming.  Our safe had a special combo that we chose, so we felt safe.

I travel with my ring ALL the time!  first of all, make sure it is insured before you go, make sure it is properly sized (so it doesn’t just “fall” off) and then, I just don’t take it off.  If I do, I leave it in a separate compartment in my suitcase (if Im playing in the sand or snorkelling or anything) so that it’s not in a ring box, visible to everyone.  Or, I use the safe at the hotel, and lock it in there.  I can’t imaging not travelling with my rings on our honeymoon, so will be doing this for sure!  i travel ALL the time for work, and have never had an issue at all.  Another idea someone had given me was to put the ring on a bike lock and lock it around something in the hotel room (bed leg, closet bar etc) that’s not moveable, and then put something on top of it (like hang the bike lock with your ring on it around the bar in the closet, and then hang a bag overtop of it, so it looks like just a bag hanging in the closet).  I have never gone that far, and have never had an issue.

Eh, I went to the Caribbean and wore my engagement and wedding ring the whole time.  They fit well and are insured, so I never worried about swimming with them or anything.  When I snorkeled, sometimes I kept my left hand in a little fist just in case.  I didn’t worry about theft.  I live in NYC, so if I worried about theft, I’d never be able to wear my ring out the front door.

You can also lock it in your safe if you are worried about swimming or whatever.

Just to be safe, I got a “stunt”  wedding band and left mine at home. I didn’t have any issues but I know I would be really upset if something did happen.

I got a $15 ring from overstock.

I don’t know if this is true but I heard that if you go shopping they may see your ring and think that you have money, so a lot of things you buy may be more expensive.

I went to cancun so it was pretty much all cheap anyway but my Darling Husband did have to haggle down on some of the stuff he bought.

I’ll be leaving mine home, but if your hotel has a safe, you could always bring it and lock it in the safe when you’re on the beach.

On another note, where in Aruba are you staying? Fiance and I have been a couple of times and love it there! If you would like any restaurant recommendations, there are a few amazing places that I’d be happy to recommend!

I will be leaving my ering and one of my bands at home.  I will bring one band with me.  Our honeymoon is revolved around scuba diving so I will probably keep it in the room’s safe while out swimming with the fishies.

I wore both my rings and he wore his.  We stayed at the Sandals in St. Lucia and only left the resort twice.  Both times the hotel recommended leaving all jewelry in the hotel safe because we were doing water activities and that’s when people tend to lose jewelry.  So we did.  We had zero problems and I’m glad I wore mine because everyone else had their’s on and we all shared stories about rings and weddings.  Most of the couples at the resort were there for the honeymoon.

I’m going to take mine off when we swim or lay out at the beach or whatever. I got a cheap band to wear when swimming. When we’re getting dinner or just hanging around the room or resort I’ll probably wear it. Just not for swimming or sunbathing.

I thought about it but didnt worry – I wore mine!  I did take my e ring off for snorkeling – just didnt want to take the chance.  I had no problem leaving it in my room.
