Thanks to all of you I now know that sunscreen and mineral makeup don’t photograph well. So, I bought some Make Up Forever HD. Now I need a recommendation. We will be setting up outside in the sun at 5200′ elevation in the morning – normally I would wear sunscreen since you can burn here (at least at midday) in about 20 minutes (yes, I found this out the hard way). Then we’ll be back for photos at 3 – again in the sun. Can I wear sunscreen on my body? will it be shiny and ugly? any other suggestions? Also, what do I ask my bridal party to do? I don’t want anyone to burn, but I still want pretty pictures!

You could use a moisturizer with sunscreen in it. biore is what I use.
I also use this foundation by covergirl (I love it so much I haven’t used anything else)
it’s got SPF 22 in it. I use it mostly for the moisturizer, because I have super dry skin. It’s worth a shot to try and see how it works for you.

I wore SPF 70 sunscreen (face and body) AND mineral makeup in our engagement photos, and they turned out great. I also plan to wear sunscreen for our wedding. I vote wear the sunscreen.
I had asked our photographer about both sunscreen and mineral makeup before our engagement photos, and she said neither is an issue.

From what I understand, SS is only an issue if flash will be used. If you’re pics will be outside w/no flash, i think its ok to wear SS.

I actually didn’t wear mineral makeup or SPF for my wedding because of what I’d heard about photography but my Maid/Matron of Honor did wear it. Her makeup looked better than mine! In both indoor and outdoor photos, she had no shine what so ever and it looked great and we have similar skin types.
