its not going to outshine the bride but I definitely wonder if they were raised in a barn.

MackenzieRaelin:  Alot of people with beach weddings or smaller intimate weddings ask the guests to wear all white. We did it with our wedding- all our guests were in white, but we only had 4 guests total that were all family asking me what to wear… That being said, it’s pretty hard to upstage the bride just bc you are wearing white- it might appear to be in bad taste to others though. My white dress was obviously a wedding dress, their white dresses were obviously summer sundresses…. Personally, I think it looked gorgeous!!!

I would guess it depends on where you live/social setting in which you were raised. I grew up with the notion that wearing white to a wedding is unacceptable. I still adhere to this policy when attending a wedding in present day. It’s not my day, it’s the brides. And although I may not outshine her, it’s the fact that I am taking her feelings and customary practices into consideration. There are many other colors to wear. Unless of course the bride and groom suggest or request you wear white – That’s a different story.

i might not wear white myself, so i don’t think i’d care if someone else did.  and if i did wear white, i would consider making the bridal party wear white like the brits.  🙂
