Thank you! its a purple sapphire:) and the turtle ring was actually the one he proposed with lol. his grandma gave him the e-ring but it never made it in the mail before our hawaii trip and so he bought me that one as a memento. It wasnt even untill after i said yes that i found out he actually had one on the way, it was bvery suspenfull cuz i didnt know what it looked like at all. it only fit on my pinkie but love it anyway. my other ring is from my grandma. so thats why they are all so different 😛

@souza_2005: what a great story you have with all your rings!! I was going to say the turtle ring reminded me of a lot of the jewelry I saw in Hawaii when my dh and I went there…I seriously regret not getting something like that when I saw it 🙁 who knows when/if we will be going back.
Purple sapphire…love it! I should have known, I worked in a jewelry store for a couple years…7 years ago, I guess I’m a little rusty 🙂

Aww thank you both, so sweet! I usually tend to think it’s really rather plain IRL… it’s super delicate, less than 2mm, you don’t see the detail unless you look really closely. It’s actually my mom’s old ring from 1986 and it was the cheapest one my parents could find, lol 🙂

@megan331979: I think its totally fine to, i was even told by a friends aunt at a wedding in some cultures its normal to move the engament ring to the right and leave the wedding band on its own …. so i would think its normal

Thanks! yeah im glad he picked something up. he said his grandma suggested he do what they did back in the day, which was buy a really nice cigar and use the gold ring around it to propose. i thought that was so sweet! but he said he wanted me to be able to keep it and have it as a memento. idk how long a wraper would last.
I was reading some of the comments above about people judging rings and (it got me thinking about the time) at my wedding there was this girl (eh prob 40s) who was dating a very old (like since head start) guy friend of mine. She said she worked in a jewelry store before and insisted my ring was not a purple sapphire. it was really odd….i had just met her and she was at my wedding. i just thought that it was weird… i wanted to tell her “actually i have the paperwork to prove it.” but didnt feel like arguing about my ring on my wedding day. its like she was convinced it was a cheaper stone than it was. I just figured she was prob a little jealous, why else would you do that?
