I don’t have pics on my phone, but I wore my mother’s. We had it altered to take off the sleeves (puffed haha, but very cute) since they didn’t fit, and we had to add lace at the bottom since I’m four inches taller 🙂

I think it’s great to do and hope it gets another wear!

My mother’s dress (which was my paternal grandmother’s dress first) was gorgeous! And I would have worn it in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, it was about 2 sizes too small and my grandma couldn’t find it. She thinks she threw it away. Which is crazy to me. But yea. I definitely would have worn it.

i almost wore my mother’s wedding dress for my senior prom.  it was a simple a-line dress with 1/2 inch straps.  we were going to dye it and alter it smaller to fit me.  i ended up finding a dress.

i did use my great grandmother’s wedding veil as the chuppah covering.

I tried my mom’s dress on and surprisingly it fit like a glove. It’s from the 70’s so it had long sleeves and was silk and lace.  It wasn’t really my style. My mother is a seamstress so she could have re-worked it to make it more modern but  I don’t think it was worth the hassle, she didn’t care too much.  She really loved seeing me wear it with the veil though!

yumcheez:  I bought a dress already, but it’s simple and super able to be altered/added to etc. and I have my moms wedding dress (which she got at a second hand store for super cheap!)and pieces  of my grandma’s dress (both my moms sisters daughters used some in their dress too!) that I’m going to use and add into my dress somehow. Next spring I’m taking it all back east to my Aunty (a seamstress) to see what we can do! I am so very excited to have some of both of their dresses to add to my very own. I think it’ll be mega special! I’m not sure what exactly I’m going to do with it all yet but I’m super excited at the prospect!

This thread makes me wish I could do it right now!!
