I have worn mine and nothing has happened. I go every other week…I have platinum and diamonds but I assume it would be fine for anything? My bigger concern is when they give me a hand massage and that lotion gunks up my rings.

I’ve never really thought about the light affecting my rings until now. I’m getting my gels redone next week for my engagement party and it will be my first time getting gels with my e-ring. The light never seemed to affect my other rings (yellow gold, white gold, etc.) but the nail techs do ask for rings to be removed for the hand massage, which I always did anyways because I take my rings off when I lotion my hands. Maybe I’ll ask my jeweler about the UV lights the next time I’m near by.

I have heard of morganite fading in sunlight, but some sources state that this is untrue. Nevertheless, I would keep a morganite ring out of the UV light just to be safe.

No, I dont, but its because of the lotion they apply during the manicure, not the UV light!

I leave my rings at home or in a ring box in my bag when I get a manicure.  I want my hand massage to be obstacle free.

I have always worn my ring or rings to manicures. Nothing affected them in any way. But I hate when they gunk up lotion all  over them.

I’d take it off JIC. It’s too soon to know the science of it on the metal yet….

I’ve been a gel mani addict for the last 3 1/2 years, and I always keep my rings on (diamond and platinum) until they are ready to lotion me up at the end, then they come off for a sec. FWIW, I never wear my rings when cooking/cleaning or even hanging out at home, they stay in the box to keep them new, but I can’t imagine UV lights doing anything to a diamond and platinum set.

I dont, all that dust from filing the gel and nails, then the lotions and sugar scrub they use..imagine that all in your ring.  I am crazy about cleaning it as it is!  Thank god for steam cleaners and baby toothbrushes.

The light shouldn’t bother the ring though!

I do not want any nail shavings nor chemicals near my ring, so I leave it off during the entire process.

I leave mine on but they use LED lights at my salon so I dont really worry too much about the diamonds being affected. I take it off for the lotion massage!
