Hey Date Twin!

My Fiance keeps mentioning that it always seems to rain over Memorial Day weekend, which is really not helpful.

I’m trying not to think about it, though.  Weather is one of those things you can’t control and it’s going to do what it wants to do, so there’s really no sense in worrying about it.  Great weather and crappy weather can happen all year ’round.

I really love that it’s staying light here until 8 or so already, though.  I’m guessing by the 24th that it will be pretty light until 8:30 or so.  Love these long days!

It’s been high 80s to low 90s here. And Fiance wanted August! HAAA! But… it’s supposedly going to rain tomorrow with a chance of 40%. The rest of the week will go from low 70s to 90s. Say WHAT? I think we’ll be okay… Can’t believe it’s almost my one year date!

Oh my goodness! Yes! Bad weather is my biggest fear. Our ceremony and reception will be inside so heat isn’t that big of an issue. I just hope it doesn’t rain.

I’m trying not to get too wrapped up over the weather.  Our ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors (and I haven’t even inquired about a rain plan — eek!!).  I’m veyr excited about it being outdoors, but I’m also trying not to get too invested in the idea in case of bad weather — if that makes any sense?  Our venue does have a portion of their deck covered we could use for cocktail hour & we do have the capability to rent a tent (more $$$) if need be for either the ceremony or cocktail hour.  We may look into pricing for that, just in case.

It never occured to me to pay attention to the sunset time…I’ll have to start doing that! Hopefully this years weather is a precurser for next year…no snow so far this month! and lower than average rain in Jersey… Horray!

I spent an evening outside last week to try to get an idea of what the sun would be like if we get a nice clear day. My wedding is indoors but I really want photos outside. I used some weather website to figure out sunset time.

Our venue is so pretty I really REALLY hope it’s not rainy!!

@BreezyBride24:  Yup!  The owner of our vendor is wonderful.  Like, I email her the most random crap now and she gets right back to me.  I just refuse to believe that it COULD actually rain and that we will need a plan B.  Gotta start thinking realistically LOL.

I would probably just move anything indoors if I had to pay a good chunk of change for a tent rental.

@BreezyBride24:

“I’m just keeping my fingers crossed memorial day weekend is pleasant. As if this years mermorial day weekend is a forecast next years –I know I know its kind of rediculous, but for some reason I think this years weather is a precursor to next years.”

LOL I am doing the same thing!! However, last year was scorching at this time of year (I’m in WV). So far, May has been mild…barely reaching the 80’s. But I’m staying optimistic that the weather will be similar next year…ridiculous, but we gotta stay hopeful, right? 😉

It was high 90s, humid, and sunny on my wedding date the year prior.  The day of my wedding – it was high 50s and had quite a bit of cloud cover.  The year before doesn’t predict anything!

I am, however, concerned about the current weather and the devastation in Oklahoma!

I am concerned about weather because of planned professional outdoor photography. I am afraid of sweating up a storm in my heavy gown. I will be nervous to begin with, and that will make me perspire a bit already … eek!

Anyone have any tips?

@BreezyBride24:  hey date twin! I sooo hear you! I am doing the same.  My ceremony is starting at 6pm (if that helps!) Also, rain on the day is supposed to be good luck!!! The weather here in NYC has been all over the place, so FH is trying to tell me to just relax.  Last week it was freezing and today I was sweating as soon as I got out of the shower! My venue has an awesome “if-it-rains” plan, so I’m hoping everyone is just as lucky!

I’m just not thinking about it. It is something i just cannot control.

My ceremony venue is under a marquee so if it rains, we’re covered.

My cocktail venue is outdoors on the beach but we have a nice wet weather back up.

My reception is in a ballroom so meh.
