My FH and have been looking around for my e-ring. He proposed without one because he wanted to be 100% sure it was exactly what I wanted.
in any case, there are a few things that I decided that I like after looking at a ton of rings. First of all, I want my ring in palladium. I love it and thing it is very underrated. It has the benefits of platinum and the price tag of white gold; what isn’t to love? And I know I want a princess cut diamond.
Problem: There are very few to no places around us that carry palladium. Moreover, it seems like identical rings are available online for much cheaper. While we don’t want to be cheap, we are on a tight budget and are considering buying a ring online to be more economical. All the websites we find, though, are based outside of Canada (or the UK where he lives). We are having concerns about paying duty by ordering from these websites.
Does anyone know of any websites that carry palladium engagement rings and ship from within Canada or the UK?

We got my e-ring from http://www.diamondsfactory.co.uk. They have loads of beautiful designs and many of them are available in palladium (which is what my ring is). They are based in Hatton Garden in London which is well-established jewellery quarter. We went to their office a few times to try on samples so we ended up ordering the ring in person, but the salesperson actually processed the order using the online ordering form on the website, so the process was exactly the same as if you’d been doing it at home. We were able to specify metal, size, quality of stones etc.
The ring is beautifully made and I love the design. It did have to go back almost as soon as I got it, because the centre stone was loose when it first came. But they tightened up the prongs for free and it’s perfect now (have had it a few months).
Because they are a diamond wholesaler we found the prices were much cheaper than on the UK high street. The only similar ring I found to mine in a high street shop was £1200 more expensive, 0.05cts smaller and only available in white gold (and I wanted palladium too). So I can recommend this website as a cheaper and more flexible alternative to the high street.
Hope this helps.

Also, they charge the same for white gold or palladium – win! 🙂

I work for a company in the US which crafts most of our ring designs in pallladium, and we ship to Canada, the UK, Ireland and Australia / New Zealand. We can create most of our engagement ring designs in palladium (or any other metal). A small sample of available engagement ring styles in palladium is viewable here:
Also, most of our new antique style rings and ring mountings which can be made in palladium are viewable here in all metals:
If you have any questions about palladium as a metal or palladium jewelry, please feel free to reach out to us. None of our customer care reps are on commission, so you don’t need to ask for anyone specifically. Hope this helps with some ideas!
