I love the depth of the commitment we now share.  I love that we took vows of marriage, such a profound statement of respect, stood up and chose each other above all others and promised to share our entire lives with each other.  Yes, you can for sure have commitment without the marriage, but that single act makes it so much deeper in my opinion (and experience!).

Saying our vows to each other, having more rights in regards to visitation in hospitals, etc, and just in general knowing that we are married.

I might be horrible for this, but I find it hilarious when people judge us for living together before marriage. Oooh, we’re such bad examples, we have a good relationship and cherish our life together!

That we get to be together and we’re making a commitment to our relationship in front of God and our families.

Plus babies… 🙂 I’m super nervous about the actual having of the babies but I’m pretty sure their worth it.

@ lilyfaith:  everyone judged us for purchasing a house before we got engaged!  Everyone said “what happens if you break up?”  Well we could easily break up w/ or w/o a ring on my finger!!

Anyways…..we are techinically already married (since August) but it was security knowing I have a fabulous partner in crime to share things with!!

@MrsJKH2be – at least you’re proving them wrong, right? 😉 I heard some mutterings about living in sin and not buying cows when the milk was free, but I know our relationship is way more than that (and, well, that ship had sailed long before we moved in together) so it wasn’t too hard to laugh off.

I put starting a family, but I meant it as we will be the new family. We aren’t even thinking about kids for at least 5 years. I’m also very happy to take his name.

In the long term, I am looking forward to starting a family, but that’s sooooo far off it’s a little weird to get excited about it now. I am already married but I was/am excited by the titles (“This is my husband…”) and the fact that it’s so, well, legal! I like the fact that he is MINE and the law says so!
