I don’t even know what that is…never heard of it, unless you mean an announcement that you’re engaged, like in your local newspaper.

I don’t think people really send wedding annoucements anymore, just put it in the newspaper.

The only reason we will be sending a few out is bc we’re getting married in Vegas and most people don’t know. We got postcards from vistaprint for $10 that have our picture and wedding date.

Everyone we would need to annouce to was at the wedding. Anyone else can find out some other way if they care.

We will be sending out baby annoucements though because neither of us are on social media much.

That’s like for old school people, who were not able to attend your wedding, and who don’t have a Facebook or something. I think it’s pointless.

If you elope or have a very small wedding, I don’t see any issue with sending out wedding announcements.  Announcements had their place back in previous generations when people would get married quickly or across the country when travel was not just a car or plane ride away.  I think in modern times annoucements are now taken as requests for gifts on the part of the newlyweds.
