Hey guys, I am new to the boards so I am not sure if I am putting this in the correct place or not :/
Anyways, my wedding is just going to be 7 people maybe 5. My maid of honor wants me to send out invitations, but I just can not see sending out invitations for that few of people esp. when those people are going to be my mother, the groom, myself, and my maid of honor and her husband. So I mean if you are suppose to be there you are going to know about it. I know a lot of places you can not order any thing under 25 or 50. I just can not seem to justify spending money for 50 invitations and only needing 5. I am planning on sending out announcements to the rest of the family after the wedding so I was going to put $500 towards that. Is $500 sufficient for announcements? What do you guys think about the invitations? Should I waste the money and send them out? or not? I am on a budget of 10k, but any of it that I do not use my fiance and I get to put towards a payment on the house, etc. So, obviously I want to save as much money as possible so we can start off sort of ahead.
Thanks in advance

Well, I think if it really is just five people, you shouldn’t order invitations. What about making a pretty little handmade invitation or card just for those five?
And as far as the announcements go, it’s hard to know if $500 is sufficient without knowing how many you plan to send. Do you have a number?

@babylou: The handmade idea is a great idea other than i am just not that artistic haha! I have no idea on a number probably about 150-200

considering you won’t need enclosures with an announcement (RSVP, Receptioncard, directions, ec) $500 seems like a reasonable budget for an announcement. I agree an invitiation for a 5-7 person wedding doesn’t seem needed, but I do like the idea of a hand made card. You could do something beautiful and keep as a keepsake for very little money

I agree. I think invitations make people feel special. Ya know, it’s saying you want them to be a part of your special day. I like them even if they are handmade or printed. You could always buy a set from Michaels or Target and just print them off…. they have super easy kits for like $20 i think.
I think $500 should be good for announcements
